RESOLUTION NO. 47,70
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEAL BEACH ESTABLISHING BUILDING VALUATION
DATA AND MISCELLANEOUS FEES AND RESCINDING
RESOLUTION NO 2571.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH DOES HEREBY RESOLVE:
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 994 of the City of Seal Beach provides for permit
fees as per the Uniform Codes adopted; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 994 further provides that building valuation data
and miscellaneous fees not included in the Uniform Codes be
established by resolution of the City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that in the interest of conformity in the
building industry the building valuation data and miscellaneous permit
fees be adopted as follows:
1. Building Valuation Data shall be as shown on Exhibit "A" attached.
2. Miscellaneous fees shall be as shown on Exhibit "B" attached.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution No. 2571 dated July 28, 1976 is
hereby rescinded.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the aforementioned building valuation
data and miscellaneous fees set forth in .Exhibit "A" and "B" attached
hereto shall become effective on the ,QT day o..,, 1978.

BUILDING VALUATION DATA
The unit costs are intended to comply with the definition of "valuation" in Section
423 of the Uniform Building Code and thus include architectural, structural,
electrical, plumbing, and mechanical work, except as specifically listed below.
It also includes the contractor's profit which should not be omitted if he has a
financial interest in the project.

120 DAYS OR IF THERE HAS BEEN NO INSPECTION WITHIN
120 DAYS FROM DATE OF LAST INCPECTION.
ONE -HALF THE AMOUNT REQUIRED FOR A NEW PERMIT FOR
SUCH WORK, PROVIDED NO CHANGES HAVE BEEN MADE OR
WILL BE MADE IN THE ORIGINAL PLANS AND SPECIFI-
CATIONS FOR SUCH WORK; AND PROVIDED, FURTHER, MAT
SUCH SUSPENSION OR ABANDOMENT HAS NOT EXCEEDED ONE
YEAR.

For each plumbing fixture or trap or set of fixtures on one
trap (including water, drainage piping and backflow protection

Each service switch over 600 volts $.075 per amp
In addition the following fees shall apply to electrical systems
contained within or on any new structure, including new additions
to existing structures.

(a) Warehouse -- that part which is over 5,000 sq. ft.
(b) Storage garages where no repair work is done
(c) Aircraft hangers where no repair work is done
2. $.0075 per sq. ft.
(a) Residential accessory buildings attached or
detached, such as garages, carports, sheds,
etc.
(b) Garages and carports for motels, hotels and
commercial parking.
(c) Warehouses up to and including 5,000 sq. ft.
(d) All other occupancies not listed, that part which
is over 5,000 sq. ft.

All other occupanices not listed up to and including

Failure to obtain a permit prior to commencing any electrical work for which
a permit is required shall result in a penalty of a double fee not to include
issuance fee. Minimum cost for such penalty is $15.00
Exception: For emergency requir work a permit may be obtained within 72 hours.

in this Code.
