HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Res 2599 Failed I I I ~ II J/fJ 1,1 V 00:/[1'# RESOLUTION NUMBER ...15"79 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH, CALIFORNIA, A CHARTER CITY, ESTABLISHING SALARY RATES. A SALARY AND WAGE SCHEDULE, AUTHORIZING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF CERTAIN EMPLOYEE BENEFITS FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT, AND REPEALING, ON THE EFFECTIVE DATES SPECIFIED, ALL RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT THEREWITH. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH DOES HEREBY RESOLVE: Section 1. The salary schedule as shown on Appendix A attached hereto and made a part hereof for each salary range and/or hourly rate of pay shall constitute the basic compensation and pay plan for all positions in the classified service. The pay plan consists of five steps or rates of pay in each salary range for full time positions in the fire department. The respective ranges are identified by number and the salary steps within each range by the letters "A" to "E" inclusive. The columnar headings at the top of each column establish the minimum length of service required for advancement to the next higher salary step. The salary schedule hereinafter shown is based on a regular weekly work schedule of forty (40) hours except for employees of the fire department assigned on fire suppression, fire fighting, and/or dispatching duties where the regular weekly work schedule is based on fifty-six (56) hours per week. The equivalent hourly rate for a forty (40) hour per week position may be computed by dividing the monthly rate by 173.3. Section 2. The salary schedule for each position classification is indicated in Appendix B attached hereto and made a part hereof, which indicates the range number and "A" and "E" steps of each classified position, the hourly or monthly rate, and the effective dates of each. Section 3. The provisions of this resolution relating to salary rates shall become effective as listed in Appendix B. Section 4. An increase is hereby authorized in the life insurance benefit for safety employees of the fire department insofar as the increased benefit does not exceed $8.70 (eight dollars and seventy cents) in cost per month per fire department safety employee. ' Section 5. An increase is hereby authorized in the subsidy paid by the-city for annual physical examinations from $10.00 per year to $35.00 (thirty five dollars) per year per fire department safety employee. To gain this subsidy, the examination must include a cardio-vascular stress test. Section 6. The payment of a 5% (five per cent) above the base pay bonus is hereby authorized for one fire department employee designated by the Fire Chief as "Operations Officer." The "Operations Officer" shall be scheduled to work a 40 hours/eight hours per day week. PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Seal California, at a meeting thereof on the day of 1976, by the following vote: AYES: Council Members Beach, NOES: Council Members ABSENT: Council Members ATTEST: Mayor City Clerk
