AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEAL BEACH, CALIFORNIA, FIXING AND DETERMINING
THE RATE OF TAXES TO BE LEVIED FOR MUNICIPAL
PURPOSES OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH FOR FISCAL
YEAR 1974-75, AND DECLARING THE URGENCY THEREOF,
AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE SHALL TAKE EFFECT
IMMEDIATELY.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the amount of money ascertained and necessary to be raised
by taxation upon the taxable property within the City of Seal Beach as
revenue to carryon the various departments of the City for the current
fiscal year of 1974-75 is fixed at the sum of $1,358,017.
Section 2. That the total value of the taxable property in the City of
Seal Beach has been determined to have a valuation of $101,518,715
and that figure shall be used as a basis for the levy of taxes for the
City of Seal Beach, which levy shall be made and collected as provided
by law.
Section 3. That the rate of taxes for municipal purposes of the City of
Seal Beach for the current fiscal year is hereby fixed at $1.35 for each
$100 of the taxable property in said City, and said sum is hereby levied
upon all of said taxable property in said City of Seal Beach, and which
rate, so fixed, shall be apportioned among the general and special funds
to pay the current expenses of said City for the fiscal year of 1974-75
and other several sums to be raised and fixed by law, as follows:
1. For the General Fund, $1.00 on each $100 of the
taxable property in said City.
2. For the maintenance and construction of parks and
boulevards, pursuant to Section 5304 of the Public
Resources Code, $.10 on each $100 of the taxable
prooerty in said City.
3. For the State Employees Retirement System, $.25 on
each $100 of the taxable property in said City.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force immediately
upon its adoption as an emergency ordinance, and facts constituting its
urgency are as follows: Section 51511 of the Government Code requires
that the rate of taxes be fixed annually before September 1st, and that
tne legislative body of the City shall immediately transmit to the County
Auditor a s~atement of rates fixed, and it is therefore, necessary that
this ordinance be effective immediately in order that the regulations of
the Government Code may be fulfilled.
Section 5. The City Clark shall certify to the passage and adoption of
this ordinance by the City Council and shall cause the same to be posted
as required by law, and shall forward a certified copy thereof to the
County Auditor of the County of Orange.

at a meeting thereof held on the 12th day of August 1974.
