O..:;;ICE ORDINANCE NUMBER 1'1 q URGENCY AN/ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH, CALIFORNIA, A CHARTER CITY, CALLING AND GIVING NOTICE OF A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELEC- TION TO BE HELD IN COUNCILMANIC DISTRICT NUMBER TWO OF SAID CITY ON TUESDAY, THE 4TH DAY OF JUNE, 1968, FOR THE ELECTION OF A MEMBER OF THE CITY COUNCIL FROM DISTRICT TWO OF SAID CITY AS REQUIRED BY THE PROVISIONS OF THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH ~ I WHEREAS, Under the provisions of the Charter of the City of Seal Beach, a general municipal election shall be held in Councilmanic District Number Two on the 4th day of June, 1968, for the election of one member of the City Council from District Number Two of said city for the full term of four years. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH, CALIFORNIA, does hereby ordain, declare, determine, and order as follows: I Section 1. That pursuant to the requirements of the Charter of the City of Seal Beach there shall be, and there is hereby called and ordered, held in Councilmanic District Number Two of the City of Seal Beach, County of Orange, State'of California, on Tuesday, the 4th day of June, 1968, a general municipal election of the qualified electors of said Councilmanic District Number Two of said city for the purpose of electing one member of the City Council from District Number Two of said city for the full term of four years. Section 2. That the ballots to be used at said election shall be, both as to form and matter contained therein, such as may be required by law to be used thereat. Section 3. That the City Clerk of said city is hereby authorized, instructed, and directed to procure and furnish any and all official ballots, notices, printed matter and all supplies, equipment, and paraphernalia that may be necessary in order to property and lawfully conduct said election. 1 Section 4. That for the purpose of holding said general municipal election, there shall be and are hereby established seven (7) voting precincts consisting of the regular election precincts in Council- manic District Number Two of the City of Seal Beach established for the holding of the statewide primary election to be held on the same day. That the polling places for the respective precincts shall be the places hereinafter designated; and that the persons hereinafter named, being competent and qualified e1ebtors and residents of said city and of their respective voting precincts, having been appointed by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange for the statewide primary election to be held on the same day, are hereby appointed officers of election for their respective voting precincts and they shall hold said election and make return thereof in the manner provided by law. I. . . ' Section 5. That the compensation of the persons hereinabove named as election officers is hereby fixed at the sum of $15.00 for each inspector, $12.00 for each judge, and $12.00 for each clerk. Section 6. That the polls for said election shall be open at Seven O'Clock A.M., of the day of said election and shall remain open continuously from said time until Eight O'Clock P.M., of the same day, when said polls shall be closed, except as provided in Section 14436 of the Elections Code of the State of California. Section 7. That in all particulars not recited in this ordinance, said election sh11 be held and conducted as provided by law for hold- ing municipal elections in said city. Section 8. That notice of the time and place of holding said election is hereby given and the City Clerk is hereby authorized, instructed, and directed to give such further or additional notice of said election in time, form, and manner as required by law. Section 9. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this ordinance, shall enter the same in a book of original ordinances of said city, and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said city, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted, and cause this ordinance to be posted in accordance with law.
