INANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEAL BEACH, CALIFORNIA, A CHARTER CITY, AMENDING
CHAPTER 2, SECTION 2-70 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY
OF SEAL BEACH ESTABLISHING POLITICAL SUBDIVISIONS
OR DISTRICTS.

WHEREAS, Pursuant to the provisions of the Annexation Act of 1913,
and pursuant to Resolution Number 1645 adopted by the City Council
of the City of Seal Beach on the 18th day of March, 1968, a special
election was held on the 21st day of May, 1968, in that certain
inhabited territory contiguous to the City of Seal Beach, and
designated as Annexation 67-1; and
WHEREAS, The annexation of that certain inhabited territory con-
tiguous to the City of Seal Beach, designated as Annexation 67-1,
was approved by the City Council of the City of Seal Beach on
June 3, 1968, at a regular meeting thereof; and
WHEREAS, It appears that the entire territory designated as
Annexation 67-1 should be within Councilmanic District One;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH, CALIF.,
DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 2-70 of the Seal Beach City Code shall remain
the same with the exception of the legal description of Councilmanic
District One which is hereby amended to read as follows:
COUNCILMANIC DISTRICT ONE
In the City of Seal Beach, County of Orange, State of California,
described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the boundary line common to
Los Angeles County and Orange County with the center line of California
State Highway U.S. Alternate No. 101; thence Southeasterly along said
center line of california State Highway U.S. Alternate No. 101 to
the point of intersection of said center line of California State
Highway U.S. Alternate No. 101 with the center line of 12th Street;
thence Southwesterly along ,said center line of 12th Street to the
" .point _of intersection with the center line of the Pacific Electric
Railway Rignt-of-Way; thence Southeasterly along said center line
of the Pacific Electric Railway Right-of-Way and its Southeasterly
prolongation to the point of intersection of said Pacific Electric
Railway Right-of-Way with the center l~ne of Bay Boulevard; thence
Northeasterly along said center line of Bay Boulevard to the point
of intersection of said center line ofiBay Boulevard with the center
line of California State Highway U.S. Alternate No.t01; thence South-
easterly along said center line of california State Highway Alter-
nate No. 101 to the point of intersection of said center line of
California State Highway U.S. Alternate No. 101 with the City
boundary line of the City of Seal Beach (said boundary line of the
City of Seal Beach established by Deeds recorded in book 617, pages
336, 337, 338, and 339, Records of Orange County, California), thence
Southerly along said boundary line of the City of Seal Beach to an
angle point in said boundary line of. the City of Seal Beach, as
described in City Ordinance No. 579 of the City of Seal Beach;

thence Easterly along said boundary line of the City of Seal Beach,
said line also being a line 250.00 feet Northerly and parallel with
the Northerly boundary line of location No. 141 State Tide Lands,
described in Patent issued April 4, 1901; thence continuing Southerly
along said boundary line of the City of Seal Beach, and along said
parallel line to an angle point in said boundary line of the City
of Seal Beach; thence Southeasterly along said parallel line also
being said boundary line of the City of Seal Beach to an angle point;
thence continuing Southeasterly along said parallel line, also being
said boundary line of the City of Seal Beach to an angle point; thence
continuing Southeasterly along said parallel ~ine, also being said
boundary line of the City of Seal Beach, to an angle point; thence
continuing Northeasterly along said parallel line, also being said
boundary line of the City of Seal Beach-; thence departing from said
parallel line Southeasterly along said boundary line of the City of
Seal Beach, to a point on the Rancho line common to Rancho Los
A1amitos and Rancho La Bo1sa Chica; thence Northeasterly along said
common line also being said boundary line of the City of Seal Beach
to a point on the Westerly Right-of-Way line of Bo1sa Chica Channel,
thence Easterly continuing along said boundary line of the City of
Seal Beach to the Westerly Right-of-Way line of Bo1sa Chica Road;
thence Southerly continuing along said boundary line of the City of
Seal Beach, and along said Westerly Right-of-Way line of Bo1sa
Chica Road, to a point on the Northerly' Right-of-Way line of Edinger
Avenue, formerly known as Smeltzer Avenue; thence Westerly along said
boundary line of the City of Seal Beach, and along said Northerly
Right-of-Way line of Edinger Avenue to a point on the Southwesterly
prolongation of last mentioned Rancho line common to Rancho Los
A1amitos and Rancho La Bo1sa Chica; thence Southwesterly continuing
along said boundary line of the City of Seal Beach, as described in
Ordinance No. 579 of the City of Seal Beach, to an angle point in
said boundary line of the City of Seal Beach; thence continuing along
said boundary line of the City of Seal Beach, and along last men-
tioned Northerly boundary of Location No. 141 State Tide Lands
described in Patent issued April 4, 1901, the following courses:
Northwesterly to an angle point; thence Northerwester1y to an angle
point in the common boundary between the City of Seal Beach and the
City of Huntington Beach as established by Annexation No. 67-1 to
the City of Seal Beach; thence along said common boundary and
Annexation No. 67-1 in the following courses, Southwesterly to an
angle point, Northwesterly to an angle point, Southwesterly to an
angle point, Southeasterly to an angle point, Northwesterly to an
angle point; Southeasterly to an angle point, Northeasterly to an
angle point, Southeasterly to an angle point, Northwesterly to an
angle point and Southeasterly to the Rancho line common to Rancho
Los A1amitos and Rancho La Bo1sa Chica; thence Southwesterly along
said common line also being the boundary line of the City of Seal
Beach as established by said Annexation' No. 67-1 to an angle point~
being the ordinary high water mark as e~tab1ished by boundary

agreement recorded in Book 7988, Page 763, Official Records of said
County said high water mark also shown on a map filed in Book 86,
Pages 35 to 37 inclusive of Record of Surveys; thence Northwesterly
along said high water mark to an angle point in the existing boundary
line of the City of Seal Beach; thence Southwesterly along the exist-
ing boundary line of the City of Seal Beach, 3 miles to an angle
point; thence Northwesterly along said existing boundary line of the
City of Seal Beach, said boundary line being parallel with and 3
miles Southwesterly from the Mean High Tide Line of the Pacific Ocean,
to the point of intersection with the prolongation of the boundary
line common to Los Angeles County and Orange County, which is the
City boundary of Seal Beach; thence Northeasterly along said boundary
line to the point of beginning.
Section 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and'
adoption of this ordinance and shall post same in accordance with
law.
