CITY CODE RELATING 10 RATES FOR WATER SERVICE,
THE CITY COUNciL OF, TilE CITY OF SflAL BEACH DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 26-6 of the sJal Beach City Code is hereby amended to
read as follows: I
Sec. 26-6. Connection Charges - - Generally
The schedule of fees for the instJllation of water services and meters
'shall be established and fixed from ti~e to time by resolution of the Ctiy
Council. A copy of the most current r~sol~tion shall be maintained on file in
the office of the water superintendent'l
Section 2. Section 26-7 of the S]al Beach City Code is hereby amended to
read as follows:
Sec. 26-7. Same For increase in s~ze of meter 'after ,initial installation
The schedule of fees for increaseJiri size of an existing service and/or
meter shall be established ~nd fixed f om time'to time by' resolution of the City
Council. A copy of the most current r~solution shall:be ~aintained on file in
the office of the water superintendent'l "
Section 3. Section 26-9 of the s]al Beach City Code is hereby amended to
read as follows:
'Sec. 26-9. Same - - For private fire lines
Each private fire service used eX~VelY for fire protection shall be
equipped with a detector check with byipass meter for checking of leakage,
pilferage or other unauthorized use oflwater through said private fire service.
Should such unauthorized use of water through a private fire service be detected,
a charge shall be made f~r the water'uJed. The amount of the charge shall be as
determined by the water superintendent! '
Section 4. Section 26-14 of the tal Beach City Code is hereby amended
to read as follows: I
Sec. 26-14. Same - - Use of private fire lines generally,
No private fire line shall be used for any purpos~ other than the "
extinguishment of fires ~nless the samJ, be equipped with a full-flow meter, in
which event the regular meter rates shall be charged.

Section 5. Section 26-15 of the Seal Beach City Code is hereby amended to
delete this section in its entirety.
Section 6. Severability
If any section, sub-section, subdivision, paragraph, sentence, clause or
phrase of this ordinance or any part thereof is for any reason held to be
unconstitutional, such decision shall not affect the validity'of the remaining
portions of this ordinance or any parts thereof. The City Council hereby declares
that it would have' passed each section, subsection, subdivision, paragraph,
sentence, clause or phrase thereof, irrespective of the fact that any' one or mor,e,
sections, subsections, subdivisions, paragraphs, sentences, clauses or phrases to
be declared unconstitutional.

Section 7. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordinance
by the City Council of the -City of Seal Beach and shall cause the same to be
posted according to law, and it shall take effect thirty (30) days-after its
-final passage and adoption.
