RESOLUTION NUMBER ~~~~ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH, CALIFORNIA AGREEING TO TERMINATE THE INTERGOVERNMENTAL COORDINATING COUNCIL OF ORANGE COUNTY. WHEREAS, certain cities and the County of Orange entered into a Joint Powers Agreement in January 1973 by resolution or minute action to establish a voluntary agency to be known as the Intergovernmental Coordinating Council of Orange County; and WHEREAS, Section 11 of the Joint Powers Agreement forming the Intergovernmental Coordinating Council reads as follows: "This Agreement may be terminated by resolution of the governing boards of a majority of the members, Upon termination, all claims against the Council shall be paid and the remaining assets, if any, distributed among the members in proportion to the total contri- butions made by such members to the council;" and WHEREAS, the members of the Intergovernmental Coordinating Council of Orange County in a regular meeting of the Council on February 25, 1976, agreed by majority vote to terminate th~ Intergovernmental Coordinating Council of Orange County; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Seal Beach, California, officially agrees to termination of the Inter- governmental Coordinating Council of Orange County and distribution of its assets in accordance with the original Joint Powers Agreement; and FURTHER, that this City Council instructs the Executive Committee of the Intergovernmental Coordinating Council of Orange County to take the appropriate actions to accomplish these things within a reasonable period of time and in any event, not later than June 30, 1976.
