ING AND DETERMINING THE RATE OF TAXES
TO BE LEVIED FOR MUNICIPAL PURPOOES AND
TO PAY THE BONDED INDEBTEDNESS AND
INTEREST OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH FOR
THE FISCAL YEAR 1964-65.
ORDINANCE NO. ~"k
The City Council of Seal Beach does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. That the amount of money ascertained and
necessary to be raised by taxation upon the taxable property
within the City of Seal Beach as revenue to carryon the
various departments of the City of Seal Beach for the current
fiscal year of 1964"65 is fixed at the sum of $463,000.93.
SECTION 2. That the total value of the taxable property
in the City of Seal Beach has been determined to have a valua-
tion of $33,429,670.00 and shall be used as a basis for the
levy of taxes for the City of Seal Beach, which levy shall be
made and collected as provided by law.

SECTION 3. That the rate of taxes for municipal purposes
and to pay the bonded indebtedness and interest of the City
of Seal Beach for the current fiscal year 1964-65 is hereby
fixed at $1.385 for each $100.00 of the taxable property in
said City, and said sum is hereby levied upon all of said
taxable property in the said City of Seal Beach, and which
rate, so fixed, shall be apportioned among the general and
special funds to pay the current expenses, bonded indebtedness
and interest and other indebtednesses of said City falling
due for the fiscal year of 1964-65 and other several sums to
be raised and fixed by law, as follows:
1. For the General Fund, $1.00 on each $100.00 of
the taxable property of said City;
2. For the maintenance and construction of parks
and boulevards, ~ursuant to Section 5304 of the Public
Resources Code, $.2655 on each $100.00 of the taxable
property of said City;
3. For the Municipal Improvement Bond Fund of
1929, $.0045 on each $100.00 of the taxable property
in said City;
4. For the State Employees Retirement System,
$.115 on each $100.00 of the taxable property in
said City.
SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force immediately upon its adoption as an emergency ordinance
and facts constituting its urgency are as follows:
Section 51511 of the Government Code requires that the
rate of taxes be fixed annually before September First and
that the legislative body of the City shall immediately transmit
to the County Auditor a statement of rates fixed, and it is
therefore necessary that this ordinance be effective immediately,
in order that the regulations of the Government Code may be
fulfilled.

SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage
and adoption of this ordinance by the City Council and shall
cause the same to be printed and published once in a newspaper
of general circulation, circulated in the City of Seal Beach,
and shall forward a certified copy thereof to the County
Auditor of the County of Orange.
