ORDINANCE NO. 621
A TEMPORARY INTERIM URGENCY ZONING
ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3(A) OF
ORDINANCE NO. 406_PURSUANT ro
SECTION 8(A) OF SAID ORDINANCE AND
SECTION 65806 OF THE GOVERNMENT
CODE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA.
The City Council of the City of Seal Beach does ordain as
follows :
Section 1. Ordinance No. 406, Section 3(A) is amended by

amending the map of the Seal Beach District to change the zoning
of the following described property from ~2 - General Commercial
District to C-l - General Business District:
All of Lot C-l, Partition of Rancho Los Alamitos;
Stanton and Lothian I.S First Addition
B'lock 207: 27, 28, I
Lots 29, 30, 31, 32, 33,
and 35;
Block 208: Lots 34, 36, 38, 40, 41, 42, 43,
and 44.
BAY VIEW TRACT
Block 209: Lots 45, 46, 47, 48, 49, 50, 51,
and 52;
Block 210: Lots 54, 56, and 58.
Tract No. 10
Block 212: Lots 61, 63, 65, 67, 68, 69, 70,
72, and 74;
Block 213: Lots HEl 25, all of lots 27, 29,
30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, and 36;

Section 2. Effective Date - This Ordinance shall take
effect immediately and is an urgency measure necessary for the
immediate preservation of public safety, health, and welfare.

Section 3. State~nt Of Ficts Constitutin~ ~he Urgency:
The Seal Beach Planning Commission has held three meetfngs to
interview suitable applicants to undertake and complete a master
plan for the City of Seal Beach. The Planning Commission and the
City Council have held meetings to review and study a new pro-
posed Zoning Ordinance. The Planning Commission, in Feb. 1963,
intends to recommend to the City Council the retaining of a
consulting firm to undertake the necessa~ studies to complete a

The City Council finds that to protect ~he public safety, health,
and welfare, it is in the best pub11C interest to temporarily
rezone the property described herein in Section 1, on the grounds
that the anticipated master zoning plan might be largely
defeated if such property were developed under the existing
provisions of C-2 General Commercial District.
Section 4. Publication - The City Clerk shall certify to
the passage and adoption of this Ordinance and shall cause the
same to be published as required by law.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the
City of Seal Beach at a regular adjourned meeting he,ld
January 28, 1963.
