IS 47' A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH, CALIFORNIA, IN SUPPORT OF ASSEMBLY BILL NO. 806 RELATING TO AN AMENDMENT OF THE PENAL CODE DECLARING THE INTENTION OF THE LEGIS- LATURE NOT T9 PREEMPT THE FIELD OF INDECENT EXPOSURE. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, the City of Seal Beach and the County of Orange are currently burdened with an influx of topless dancers who perform in local beer bars, and; WHEREAS, the City of Seal Beach, California, finds and declares that such entertainment is not socially common or socially acceptable in this community, and; WHEREAS, the City Council desires to protect and improve the image of our community by prohibiting such activity, and; WHEREAS, under the current state of the law and case decisions the State Legislature has acted in the field of the regulation of morals and sexual activity, and; WHEREAS, the City of Seal Beach desires to have the power restored to it to regulate, permit or prohibit the activity as heretofore set forth. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Seal Beach does hereby support and urge the passage of Assembly Bill No. 806 which reads as follows: "The people of the State of California do enact as follows: Section 1. Section 318.6 is added to the Penal Code, to read: 318.6. It is not the intent of the Legislature to preempt the field of indecent exposure, and any county or city may adopt ordinances in such field supplementing state law." BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be and is hereby instructed to send copies of this resolution to each city in Orange County and the Board of Supervisors for the County of Orange, and to each member of the Criminal Procedures Committee of the State Assembly. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that each city and the County of Orange be urged to adopt similar resolutions supporting said assembly bill and that each city and the County of Orange be urged to forward their resolutions to each member of the Criminal Procedures Committee in the State Assembly, Sacramento. , , Resolution Number , .
