HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Res 1561 1967-06-19 I I I RESOLUTION No.~'1 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH ESTABLISHING SALARY RATES AND A SALARY AND WAGE SCHEDULE AND REPEALING ALL RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT THEREWITH. The City Council of the City of Seal Beach does hereby resolve: SECTION 1. The following schedules and pay rates shall apply to the following positions effective August 1, 1967: Position Classification 1. H-24 3.11 (2) I I I Resolution Number SECTIGN 2. Salary and Wage Schedule The following salary and wage schedules shall constitute the basic compensation plan for all positions in the competitive service consisting of five steps or rates of pay in each schedule. The respective schedules shall be identified by number and the steps by the letters "A" to "E" inc'lusive. The columnar headings at the top of each column shall establish the purpose of each step and the minimum length of service required for advancement to the next higher step. The salary schedules hereafter shown are based on a regular weekly work schedule of forty (40) hours except for employees of the Fire Department assigned to Fire Suppression, Fire Fighting and/or dispatching duties where the regular weekly work schedule is based on 56 hours per week. The Hour Salary and Wage Schedule shall constitute the basic compensation plan for all portions included herein above as parttime and seasonal personnel. Police Investigator's Allowance. I In addition to their regular salary and wages as defined herein, any employee of the Police Department who is assigned to 'the Detective Bureau for duties as an investigator on a full-time basis shall be paid the sum of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) per month. This sum shall be in lieu of such ~erson accumulating or earning overtime, either paid or on a comoensatory time-off basis, while assigned to investigative duties in the Detective Bureau on a full-time basis. SECTION 4. Police De~artment Uniform Fund. There is hereby established a fund to be known as the Police Department Uniform Fund, into which the City shall monthly ~ay from the General Fund the sum of ten dollars ($10.00) for each full-time sworn police officer in the employee of the City of Seal Beach. The Chief of Police is authorized to expend such money from the Police Department (5) I I I Resolution Number Uniform -Fund 'for the repair and replacement of uniforms and uniform equipment for members of the Police Department who are full-time sworn police officers as shall be required from time to time to maintain neat and proper appearance of such personnel. The Chief of Police shall monthly submit a report to the City Manager setting forth the details of expenditures and the fund balances. This fund shall not be used to provide new police department personnel with their initial full set of uniforms, uniform equipment, and/or sidearms as may be required. Replace- ment uniforms and uniform equipment provided from the Police Department Uniform Fund shall become the property of the police officer. Any money on deposit in the fund shall belong to the City of Seal Beach and shall be expended upon authorization of the Chief of Police only for uniforms and uniform equipment as herein indicated. Any member of the Police Depa~tment who leaves his employment with the City shall not be entitled to any portion of such fund. The Chief of Police shall pay from the Uniform Fund the sum of ten dollars ($10.00) each month to each full-time sworn police officer while he is assigned to full-time investigative duty as a uniform allowance. SECTION 5. Fire Department Uniform Allowance. There is hereby' established a fund to be known as the Fire Department Uniform Fund, into which the City shall monthly pay from the General Furid the sum of ten dollars ($10.00) for each full-time sworn firemen in the employee of the City of Seal Beach. The Fire Chief is authorized to expend such money from the Fire Department Uniform Fund for the repair and replacement of uniforms and uniform equipment for members of the Fire Department who are full-time sworn firemen as shall be required from time to time to maintain neat and proper appearance of such personnel. Each Reserve Police Officer who monthly serves sixteen (16) hours of duty with the Police Department shall be paid from the City of Seal Beach's General Fund the sum of ten dollars ($10.00) per month as a uniform allowance for the maintenance, repair and replacement of their uniform equipment. Each Reserve Officer shall provide at the time of 'their enrollment as a Reserve Officel' a full set of uniform, uniform equipment and sidearms. (6) Resolution Number .. , . . .
