A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH, A CHARTER CITY, REQUESTING THE UNITED STATES POSTMASTER GENERAL TO ISSUE A COMMEMORATIVE STAMP TO OBSERVE THE TWO HUNDREDTH ANNIVERSARY OF THE BEGINNING OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA. WHEREAS, Mission San Diego de Alcala was founded in l769, and this historic event is recognized as the beginning of the State of California; and WHEREAS, The Two Hundredth Anniversary of the founding of the State of California will be celebrated in 1969; and WHEREAS, An event of such importance to the State of California should be memorialized in the issuance of a commemora- tive United States postage stamp; I NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH, CALIFORNIA, A CHARTER CITY, RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: That the City of Seal Beach does support the concept of the issuance in 1969 of a United States postage stamp commemorating the Two Hundredth Anniversary of the founding of the State of California, That the City Clerk of the City of Seal Beach shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution and shall forward a copy of same to the City Clerk of the City of San Diego in order that it might become a part of a total presentation to be sub- mitted to the Postmaster General, PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Seal Beach, California, at a meeting thereof held on the 27th day of November, 1967, by the following vote: AYES: Councilmen ~Le~4-" A.I"......,. f;,d-- .
