RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FINANCING PROGRAM THE IMPROVEHENT OF LAMPSON AVENUE. WHEREAS, the City of Seal Beach desires to improve Lampson Avenue from Los AlamitOs Boulevard to 10,100 feet east of Los Alamitos Boulevard, and WHEREAS, Lampson Avenue is an important artery in the County of Orange and of general County interest, and WHEREAS, Article 2 and Article 3, Chapter 9, Division 2 of the Streets and Highways Code authorizes a County, if it desires, to expend funds apportioned to it out of the California Highway Users Tax Fund:,for aid to any City in the improvement, construction or repair of a street within a City, and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors intends to, by appropriate action, provide in the County budget of the Special Road Improvement Fund for the Fiscal Year 1968-69 a sum of money for the improvement of streets within the incorporated cities of the County in accordance with the Orange County Arterial Highway Financing Program. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Seal Beach hereby requests the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange to allocate to said City from County funds the amount of $86,000.00, said amount to be matched by funds from said City, to be used to aid said City in the improvement of Lampson Avenue from Los Alamitos Boulevard to 10,100 feet east of Los Alamitos Boulevard, said improvements to be in accordance with the attached project statement; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange is hereby requested to find that said work on Lampson Avenue, in the manner provided, is in the general County interest. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, by this Resolution, the City of Seal Beach ! agrees with the basic concepts of the Arterial Highway Financing Program; and further agrees that its share of the cost of improvements and rights-of-way will be available for the fiscal year 1968-69. Approval of this project would, proviue four travcl lanes fro", Los Alamitos 1I0ulcvard to Knott Avenue in the City of Garden Grove, a distance of three and onc-ha1f miles, This is the only cast-I.est street between I~estminster Avenue to the south and Katella Avenue to the north except for the San Diego- Garden Grove Freeway, TRAFFIC SIGNALS AT LOS ALA}IITOS BOULEVARD: The need for traffic signals at the intersection of Lampson Avenue and Los Alamitos Boulevnrd is imperative, A tabulation of the basic traffic signal warrants wh ich arc satisfied arc attached.
