A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEAL BEACH, CALIFORNIA, A CHARTER CITY, SUPPORTING
SELECTION OF THE CITY OF LOS ANGELES AS THE SITE
OF THE 1976 SUMMER OLYMPICS,
WHEREAS The City of Los Angeles is in active competition with the
cities of Detroit, Philadelphia, Champ, Missouri CSt, Louis),
and San Francisco for the selection by the United States
Olympic Committee as the American entry in the worldwide
ee1.ec~io~ as the site of the 1976 Summer Olympics; and
WHEREAS, 1976 will be the 200th anniversary of the founding of the
United States of America, and it would be most fitting for
the great athletes of the world to compete in the United
States of America; and
WHEREAS, The selection of the American city is scheduled by the
United States Olympic Committee in May of this year;
and
WHEREAS, It is vital that the United States Olympic Committee
realizes the genuine desire of the citizens in the many
communities to host this prestigious worldwide event;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEAL BEACH, CALIFORNIA, A CHARTER CITY, THAT THIS CITY SUPPORTS AND
APPROVES THE APPLICATION OF THE CITY OF LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, AS
THE HOST CITY FOR THE 1976 SUMMER OLYMPICS,
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEAL BEACH, CALIFORNIA, AT A MEETING THEREOF HELD ON THE 4TH DAY OF
MARCH, 1968, BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE:
