ZOETER PARK INTERIM LANDSCAPE PLAN
SUMMARY OF REOUEST:
The proposed City Council action will authorize the interim landscaping of Zoeter Park.
BACKGROUND:
Trees for Seal Beach has approached the City requesting to fund and construct interim
landscaping at the new Zoeter Park. The current use of the park is open tuIf. The plan shown in
the attachment would add additional trees to the park. The ultimate use and configuration of
Zoeter Parle is scheduled as a work item for the Parks and Recreation Commission and Trees for
Seal Beach has agreed all trees planted under this plan are for the interim only and may be
removed in the future. Staff is requesting City Council approval of the interim landscaping of
Zoeter Park.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact at this time. All construction costs and 1 st year maintenance cost will
be paid for by Trees for Seal Beach. In the future, additional tree trimming will be needed as
part of ongoing park maintenance.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council authorize the interim landscaping of Zoeter Park.
