FLEET SURPLUS
SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The proposed City Council action will authorize the sale of surplus property.
BACKGROUND:
A recent vehicle collision has left the Public Works pool car in totaled condition because
of expensive electrical repairs for a hybrid engine. It is requested that this inoperable
vehicle be sold as surplus property at auction, The updated Fleet Management Report is
scheduled to be presented to City Council during the upcoming budget cycle and in the
interim, the Toyota will be replaced with an unmarked Police vehicle.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Revenue generated from the sale of the surplus property at auction is estimated to be less
than $500. Permanent replacement will be scheduled through the updated Fleet
Management Report.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council authorize the sale of surplus property.
