AGENDA REPORT
DATE:
December 12,2005
TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council
,
TIIRU: John B. Bahorski, City Manager
FROM: Mark K. Vukojevic P.E., Director of Public Works/City Engineer
SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR
ANNUAL CONCRETE REHABILITATION PROGRAM
FY 200512006, PROJECT No, 50180
SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The proposed City Council action will approve the plans and specifications, and
authorize Staff to initiate the bidding process for the Annual Concrete Rehabilitation
Program, Project No. 50180.
e BACKGROUND:
This program replaces portions of sidewalks and deteriorated concrete along the roadway,
improving the drainage and standard water along the curb line. It will also update curb
access ramps in an effort to reduce the backlog of concrete repairs. Currently there is a
several- million-dollar backlog of concrete repairs in the City as adopted in the Council
adopted five-year Capital Improvement Program. The project encompasses Citywide
concrete repair and will be in conjunction with the Annual Paving Rehabilitation Project.
The plans and specifications will be completed by in-house staff. Upon the successful
bidding process and award of a contract, the project is scheduled to be completed at the
end of the fiscal year in June.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds in the amount of $50,000 are currently available within the City's Capital
Improvement program budget to construct these improvements under project number
50180, budgeted from Measure M Local Turnback. Any remaining funds would be
reprogrammed for next year's street program as approved by City Council.
