A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEAL BEACH GIVING NOTICE OF PROPOSED ANNEXA-
TION TO THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH OF THAT CERTAIN
UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESCRIBED HEREIN AND
DESIGNATED CITY OF SEAL BEACH "ANNEXATION 75-l"
AND GIVING NOTICE OF TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING
OF PROTESTS THERETO.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH DOES HEREBY RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS:
Section l. Pursuant to the prov~s~ons of the "Annexa-
tion of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939", as amended, the City
Council of the City of Seal Beach on its own motion does hereby
initiate proceedings for the annexation to the City of Seal Beach
of the hereinafter described territory; that said territory is
contiguous to the City of Seal Beach, is hereby designated City
of Seal Beach "Annexation No. 75-l" and is described on Exhibit
"A" hereto attached and made a part hereof by reference.
Section 2. That the Local Agency Formation Commission
of Orange County, California, did in session duly assembled on
June ll, 1975, approve the proposed annexation and the boundaries
thereof, duly submitted to said Commission in accordance with law.
Section 3. That the City Council of the City of Seal
Beach desires to annex said territory for the reason that it is
contiguous to the City of Seal Beach, all of the land proposed
to be annexed lies within the sphere of influence of the City of
Seal Beach as determined by the Local Agency Formation Commission
for Orange County, the proposed annexation is consistent with the
Seal Beach General Plan, the character of the territory is such
that it requires and will benefit from municipal, police and fire
protection, street maintenance and other municipal services, and
its annexation will contribute to the growth and development of
both the City of Seal Beach and of said territory.
Section 4. That August ll, 1975, at 8:00 o'clock p.m.
of said day, in the Council Chambers, of the City Administration
Building, 2ll 8th Street, Seal Beach, California, is hereby fixed
as the time and place when and where any person owning real property
within the uninhabited territory above described and proposed to be
annexed to the City of Seal Beach and having any objections to the
proposed annexation may appear before the Council of the City of
Seal Beach and show cause why such uninhabited territory should not
be so annexed to said City of Seal Beach. Such protest shall be
in writing, may be filed at any time before the final adjournment
of the hearing on protests to the proposed annexation and shall
state the name or names of the owner or owners of property affected
and the street address or other description of such property suf-
ficient to identify it on the last equalized assessment roll.
Section 5. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and
directed to cause a copy of this resolution to be published at
lease twice, but not oftener than once a week, in the Seal Beach
Journal, a newspaper of general circulation published in the City

and in the Santa Ana Register, a newspaper of general circulation
published outside the City of Seal Beach but in the County of
Orange, California, the county in which is located said territory
proposed to be annexed, said publication to be completed at least
twenty (20) days prior to,the date set for hearing.
Said City Clerk is further authorized and directed to
cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to
each person to whom land within the territory proposed to be
annexed is assessed on the last equalized county assessment roll
available on the date hereof, at the addresses shown on said
assessment roll or known to said Clerk, and to any person who
has filed his name and address and the designation of the lands
in which he has an interest, either legal or equitable, with
said Clerk, such notice to be given not less than twenty (20)
days before the public hearing on the proposed annexation.
Said City Clerk is further directed to cause a copy of
this Resolution to be transmitted to the State Lands Commission
and to the governing board of each school district which, in part
or in whole, is included in the territory sought to be annexed,
and which has made written request therefor.
