A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEAL BEACH, CALIFORNIA, SUPPORTING PROPOSITION
"X" ON THE NOVEMBER 5, 1974 GENERAL ELECTION BALLOT.
WHEREAS"
every high school within the Huntington Beach Union High School
District is facing a severe shortage of classroom space at the
present time; and
there are over 19,000 students enrolled in the high schools of
the Huntington Beach Union High School District and district
enrollment is expected to continue its upward growth pattern; and
the district has exhausted all other alternatives to housing
students and trustees have called a tax election for November 5,
1974, bringing to the voters an $11,337.500 lease/back issue; and
passage of that issue at the polls will allow the district to
have a critically needed new high school constructed in the
central area of the district, alleviating crowding at all
district high schools; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Seal Beach recognizes that even
the finest educationa1 program suffers when presented under over-
crowded conditions;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Seal
Beach hereby goes on record in support of the tax issue; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Seal Beach
realizes that the passage of this tax issue is crucial to the continuation
of the district's successful educational program for today's high school
students and, further, that passage of this tax issue will assure adequate
secondary school facilities for the children presently enrolled as pupils
in the Seal Beach Elementary School District.
