A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEAL BEACH, CALIFORNIA REQUESTING FEDERAL FINANCIAL
ASSISTANCE FOR BEACH EROSION CONTROL AND SAND
REPLENISHMENT AND RESPECTFULLY REQUESTING THAT
CONGRESSMAN CRAIG HOSMER INTRODUCE FEDERAL LEGIS-
LATION WHICH WOULD REIMBURSE THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH
FOR EXTRAORDINARY COSTS OF SAND REPLENISHMENT IN
1970, 1971 AND 1972.
WHEREAS,
the City of Seal Beach incurred extraordinary expenses in the
amounts of $65,553, $14,400 and $20,000 for sand replenishment
as a result of beach erosion in the years 1970, 1971 and 1972
respectively; and
WHEREAS, other local agencies receive federal financial assistance whenever
beach erosion causes local agencies to expend funds to replenish
the eroded areas with sand;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Seal Beach respectfully
requests that Congressman Craig Hosmer introduce legislation on behalf
of the City of Seal Beach for federal, financial assistance in Seal Beach's
program of sand replenishment and for reimbursement of $99,953 of extra-
ordinary expenses already incurred in sand replenishment.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Orange County Board of Supervisors be requested
to support the City of Seal Beach on behalf of all Orange County residents
who also use the beach.

WHEREAS, on January 8, 1973 the City Council received the Planning Commission's
report and reviewed the findings contained therein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Seal Beach as
follows:
1. All notices required by law and by ordinance of the appeal and public hearing
by the City Council upon this matter have been given, posted or mailed as
required by law, and
2. Each finding heretofore made by the Planning Commission is true and each such
finding was and is supported by substantial evidence, and
3. The appeal of John S. Palmar/Richard Moody from the Seal Beach Planning
COIIDDission Resolution No. 695 is denied, and the action of the Seal Beach
Planning Commission adopting its Resolution No. 695 is affirmed.
