RESOLUTION NUMBER d.3 () t
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEAL 8EACH, CALIFORNIA, OPPOSING SENATE BILL 1930.
WHEREAS,
the Seal Beach City Council believes the spirit and intent of
Senate Bill 90 is that no State mandated program can be enacted
unless adequate State funding is provided; and
Senate 8ill 1930 would exclude from the obligation of the State
the responsibility to reimburse local agencies for State mandated
costs in State Legislature approved changes in the provisions of
any public employees' retirement system; and
the City of Seal Beach believes local jurisdiction is best in
regards to what retirement system a local agency desires to
provide for its employees; and
if the State Legislature wants to usurp local government's
authority to determine what retirement system is best, it must
reimburse local government for the additional costs incurred;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVEO that the City Council of the City of Seal
8each, California, does hereby oppose Senate Bill 1930 and its intended
infringements on local jurisdiction.
