HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Ord 606 1962-05-07 I ',I I 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 . .. 1 CITY OF SEAL BEACH ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA 2 3 4 5 ORDINANCE NO. ~, AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 26-10 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH, REGULATING AND CONTROLLING THE USE, SALE AND DISTRIBUTION OF WATER TO THE INHABITANTS OF SAID CITY, FIXING THE RATES TO BE CHARGED THEREFOR; PROVIDING FOR THE PAYMENT AND COLLECTION THEREOF, THE INSTALLATION OF METERS THEREFOR, THE READING AND INSPECTION THEREOF AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Amendment of Ordiaance. Section 26-10 of the Code of the City of Seal Beach, as amenaea by ordinance No. 599, is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 26-10. The monthly minimum rate to be charged for water furnishea thro~h meters and private fire lines as p~ovided in Section 26-8 shall be for the use of the first 500 cubic feet, or part thereof, of water furnished through such meter; for the first 100,000 cubic feet, or part thereof, of water furnish- ed through such meter or private fire line in excess of the first 500 cubic feet, an additional charge of sixteen cents shall be made for each additional 100 cubic feet, or part thereof; for the next 100,000 cubic feet, or part thereof, of water furnished through such meter or private fire line, an additional charge of eighteen cents shall be made for each additional 100 cubic feet, or part thereof; for any and all water furnished through such meter or private fire line in excess of 200,500 cubic feet, an additional charge of twenty cents shall be made for each additional 100 cubic feet, or part thereof. SECTION 2. Severability. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase, or port10n of this ordinance, or the application thereof to any person, firm, corporation or circumstance is for any reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of any court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance. The Council of the City of Seal Beach hereby declares that it would have adopted this ordinance and each section, sub- section, sentence, clause, phrase, or portion thereof, irrespective of the fact that anyone or more section, sub-section, sentence, clause, phrase, or portion be declared invalid or unconstitutional. SECTION 3. Jffective Date.
