A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH SUPPORTING,
WITH RESERVATIONS, S.B. 860 ENTITLED THE "CALIFORNIA
COASTAL RESOURCES ACT OF 1972"
the City Council of Seal Beach has studied the contents and
provisions of S.B. 10D and A.B. 200 regarding coastal zone
management legiSlation, and has found them to be unsatisfactory
and unacceptable; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of Seal Beach has adopted Resolution 2083 in
opposition to proposed S.B. 100 and A.B. 200; and
WHEREAS,
WHEREAS, the City Council of Seal Beach recognizes the need to insure adequate
representation of coastal cities on any governmental decision-making
bodies created as a result of coastal zone management legislation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Ci,ty Council of Seal Beach recognizes
that of all coastal zone management legislation proposed to date. S.B. 860
most nearly maintains the integrity of local government, local decision-making
and local planning of coastal resources.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of Seal Beach is in support of
S.B. 860 with the reservation that, in its present draft, S.B. 860 does not
insure adequate representation of coastal cities and that the City Council
urges amendments to S.B. 860 which would insure such representation.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Counchl of the City gi Seal Beach,
California at a meeting thereof held on the J'IL day of may ,
