RESOLUTION NUMBER a II ~
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEAL BEACH, CALIFORNIA, DESIGNATING THE NAME OF
THE PARK AT CRESTVIEW AND AVALON AVENUES AS
GUM GROVE ~ (NATURE ~) .
WHEREAS The City of Seal Beach has entered into a lease with
the owners of approximately ten acres of land located
at Crestview and Avalon Avenues in the City of
Seal Beach: and
WHEREAS Said land is heavily wooded with Eucalyptus trees.
often referred to as "gum" trees: and
WHEREAS Said land has been developed by the city of Seal Beach
for use, as a "nature" park and the beautiful trees
will remain on the land for the enjoyment of all those
who visit the park: and
WHEREAS The area has long been known locally as "The Gum Grove"
and
WHEREAS The members of the Parks and Recreation Commission have
selected "Gum Grove Park (Nature Area)" as the name
of the newly-developed park:
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the city Council of the City of
Seal Beach that the name of the park located at Crestview and
Avalon Avenues be designated as
GUM GROVE PARK (NATURE AREA).

PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED by the city Council of the city of
Seal Beach at a meeting thereof held on the 12th day of June, 1972,
