A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH REQUESTING THE STATE LEGISLATURE OF 'CALIFORNIA TO ENACT NEW AND/OR MODIFY EXISTING LEGISLATION TO ENABLE ALL LOCAL GOVERNMENTAL DISTRICTS THAT SERVE AREAS OF EACH OTHER, WHETHER COINCIDING OR NOT, TO BE ABLE TO HOLD SIMULTANEOUS ELECTIONS, WHEREAS, The existing California Codes do not allow city council elections, held in general law cities, to be held simultaneously with school board elections and/or special district elections: NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: That to effect economy for the same people served by different districts, the City Council of the City of Seal Beach, County of Orange, State of California, does hereby petition the State Legislature of the State of California to enact new and/or modify existing legislation to enable all local governmental districts that serve areas of each other, whether coinciding or not, to be able to hold simultaneous elections. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City Clerk be hereby directed to forward copies of this resolution to the California State Legislature. the California League of Cities, the Orange County Division of the League of Cities, and to all Orange County cities, PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Seal Beach, California, at a meeting thereof held on the 16th day of March, 1970, by the following vote: /L / // AYES: councilmen~, d,__, ~.
