RESOLUTION NUMBER 1847 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING RESOLUTION NUMBER 1844 RECITING THE FACTS OF THE PRIMARY NOMINATING ELECTION HELD IN SAID CITY ON THE 31ST DAY OF MARCH. 1~70, DECLARING THE RESULTS THEREOF, AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS ARE PROVIDED BY LAW. WHEREAS, A regular nominating primary municipal election was held and conducted in the City of Seal Beach, County of Orange, State of California, on Tuesday, the 31st day of March, 1970, as required by law: and WHEREAS, notice of said election was duly and regularly given in time, form, and manner as provided by law: that voting precincts were properly established: that election officers were appointed: and that in all respects said election was held and,cond~cted and the votes cast thereae, received, and canvassed, and the returns made and declared in time, form, and manner as required by the provisions of the Elections Code of the State of California for the holding of elections in general law and charter cities: and WHER~S, pursuant to Section 22930 of the Elections Code a recount of votes for Councilmanic District Three was held in Council Chambers on this 10th day of April, 1970, and was conducted by a board appointed by the City Council, the certified corrected results are made a part hereof in Section 4, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1, That there were sixteen (16) voting precincts established for the purpose of holding said election consisting of consolidations of the regular election precincts in the City of Seal Beach, California, as established for the holding of state and county elections, section 2, That said regular primary nominating election was held for the purpose of nominating the following officers of said city as required by the Charter of the City of Seal Beach and general laws of the State of California, to wit: One member of the city Council of said city for the full term of four years, District One: One member of the City Council of said city for the full term of four years, District Three: One member of the City Council of said city for the full term of four years, District Five. Resolutio~ Number 1 Section 3, That the whole number of votes cast in said city, including absent ballot votes was 2,412, Section 4. That the names of the persons voted for at said election for a member of the City Council in Distric~ One are as follows: Stanley G, Anderson Thomas R, Hogard Carl A, Mons R. Section 5, The City Council does declare and determine that: THOMAS R, HOGARD was elected as a Member of the City Council of the City of Seal Beach for the full term of four years; District One; JOHN B, HAMILTON was nominated as a Member of the City Council of the City of Seal Beach for the full term of four years; District Three; MORTON A, BAUM was nominated as a Member of the City Council of the City of-Seal Beach for the full term of four years; District Three; HAROLD K, HOLDEN was elected as a Member of the City Council of the City Of-Seal Beach for the full term of four years; District Five. Section 6, The City Clerk shall enter on the records of the City Council of the City of Seal Beach, a statement of the result of said election showing: (l) The whole number of votes cast in the City; (2) The names of the persons voted for; (3) For what office each person was voted for; (4) The number of votes given at each precinct to each person; (5) The number of votes given in the city to each person, Section 7, That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of thie resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original resolutions of said city; and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereon in the records of the proceedings of the city Council of said city, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted, PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED ~eoial meeting of the City Council held on the 10th da of April, 1970, ATTEST: ~. ~~ ~ STATE OF CALIFORNIA COUNTY OF ORANGE CITY OF SEAL BEACH ) ) ss ) , I, Jerdys Weir, City Clerk of the City of Seal Beach, do hereby certify that the above and foregoing resolution was introduced and adopted at a special meeting of the city Council of the City of Seal Beach held on April 10t9, 1970, by the following vote: AYES: Councilmen Anderson, Dreis, Fuhrman, Gummere, Hamilton NOES: Councilmen None ABSENT: Councilmen None ~~.
