AGENDA ITEM # VIII A RESOLUTION NUMBER /Cf'lf A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH, CALIFORNIA, A CHARTER CITY, NAMING THE ELECTION OFFICERS AND POLLING PLACES FOR THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION IN COUNCILMANIC DISTRICT T1~. WHEREAS, Ordinance Number 830 callinq and giving notice of a Special Municipal Election to be held in Councilmanic District Two on Tuesday, the 30th day of March, 1971, was adopted on January 5, 1971, and WHEREAS, Election Code Sections 22802 and 22803 provides for the appointment of precinct election officers and designation of polling places; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Seal Beach hereby resolves: SECTION 1. That for the purpose of holding said Special Municipal Election, there shall be and are hereby established six (6) voting precincts consisting (Of consolidations) of the regular election precincts in the City of Seal Beach established for the holding of state and county elections, as said regular election precincts exist on the date of adoption of this resolution. That the polling places for the respective precincts shall be the places hereinafter designated; and that the persons hereinafter named, being competent and qualified electors and residents of said City and of their respective voting precincts, are hereby appointed officers of election for their respective voting precincts and they shall hold said election and make return thereof in the manner provided by law. That the compensation of the persons hereinbefore named as election officers is hereby fixed at the sum of Twenty-one Dollars for each Inspector and Eighteen Dollars for each Judge and Clerk for said election. The rental for each of such polling places. where a charge is made, shall be the sum of Fifteen Dollars for said election. SECTION 3. That the polls for said election shall be open at seven o'clock A.M. of the day of said election and shall remain open continuously from said time until seven o'clock P.M. of the same day when said polls shall be closed, except as provided in Section 14436 of the Elections Code of the State of California. SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original Resolutions of said City; and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in , ... , ~ 1 I I Resolution Number .., the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
