RESOLUTION NUMBER ~ "G"
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH,
CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE FACTS OF THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL
ELECTION HELD IN SAID CITY ON THE 30th DAY OF MARCH, 1971,
IN COUNCILMANIC DISTRICT II, DECLARING THE RESULTS THEREOF,
AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS ARE PROVIDED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, a special municipal election was held and conducted in the
City of Seal Beach, County of Orange, State of California, on
Tuesday, the 30th day of March, 1971 as requjred by Ordinance
Number 830 of the City of Seal Beach, California; and
WHEREAS, notice of said election was duly and regularly given in
time, form, and manner as provided by law; that voting
precincts were properly established; that election officers
were appointed, and that in all respects said election was
held and conducted and the votes cast thereat, received,
and canvassed, and the returns made and declared in time,
form, and manner as required by the provisions of the
Elections Code of the State of California for the holding
of election~ in general law and charter cities; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution Number 1963, adopted the 15th day
of March, 1971, the City Clerk of the City of Seal Beach
canvassed the returns of said election and has certified the
results to this City Council, said results are received,
attached, and made a part hereof as "Exhibit A."
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH, CALIFORNIA
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Sectionl. That there were six (6) voting precincts established
for the purpose of holding said election consisting of
consolidations of the regular election precincts in the
City of Seal Beach, California as established for the holding
of State and County elections.
Section 2. That said special municipal election was held for the
purpose of submi tti ng to the voters the ques ti on "Shall
Conway J. Fuhrman be recalled from the office of member of
the City Council from District 2?"; and
,For one member of the City Council, District 2, to succeed
Conway J. Fuhrman if he is recalled from the office by the
recall election.
Section 3. That the whole number of votes cast in Councilmanic
Oistrict 2, including absent ballot votes was 4,032.
Section 4. That the measure submitted to the voters was:
"Shall Conway J. Fuhrman be recalled from the
office of Member of the City Council from District 2?"
That the names of the persons voted for at said election for a
member of the City Council to succeed Conway J. Fuhrman if he
is recalled from office by the recall election was:

Section 5. The City Council does declare and determi~e that Conway J.
Fuhrman was recalled from the office of Councilman, District Two,
City of Seal Beach;
The City Council does further declare and determine Franklin B.
Sales was elected to succeed Conway J. Fuhrman, as a member of
the City Council of the City of Seal Beach, District Two.
Section 6. The City Clerk shall enter on the records of the City
Council of the City of Seal Beach, a statement of the result
of said election showing:
(1) The whole number of votes cast in District 2;
(2) The names of the persons voted for;
(3) For what office each person was voted for;
(4) The number of votes given at each precinct to each person;
(5) The number of votes given in District Two to each person:
Section 7. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and
adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same in the book
of original resolutions of said City; and shall make a minute
of the passage and adoption thereon in the records of the
proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the minutes
of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED at a regular adjourned meeting of the
City Council held on the 6th day of April, 1971.

State of California, duly authorized by Resolution Number 1963, adopted
by the City Council of said city on the 15th day of March, 1971, do
