RUBBISH AND WEEDS WITHIN THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH The City Council does ordain as follows: SECTION 1: No person, firm or corporation shall kindle or mairi- tain, nor shall allow to be kindled or maintained, any bonfire, nor burn any weeds, trash or rubbish on or in any street in the City of Seal Beach. SECTION 2: No person shall burn, or allowed to be burned, any gras weeds, trash or rubbish on any parcel of land, either public or private, unles a written permit so to do shall have been granted by the Fire Department; when such permit is granted by the Fire Department a competent person shall be in attendance until all fire is extinquished, and a water hose, with adequate water supply, shovels, wet sacks or other aids to fire fighting equipment shall be readily accessible. SECTION 3: The prohibition contained in this ordinance as to the burning of grass, weeds, trash or rubbish includes the burning in incinerators. SECTION 4: The provisions of this ordinance shall not apply to the use of barbeque pits; provided that no barbeque pit shall be used for the , disposal of ~ombustible trash, unless a written permit so to do shall be granted by the Fire Department. SECTION 5: No person shall burn, nor allow to be burned, garbage, fertilizer or other offensive waste materials in the City of Seal Beach. SECTION 6: Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed to be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine of not more than One hundred fifty ($150) Dollars, or by imprisonment in jail for a period of not more than thirty (30) days, or by both such fine and imprisonment. SECTION 7: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this ordinance and cause the same to be published once in the "Seal Beach Post and Wave", a newspaper of general circulation, published and circulated in the City of Seal Beach, and this ordinance shall take effect at 12:01 A.
