RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF ,THE CITY OF
SEAL BEACH DIRECTING THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION
TO SELECT A REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT AREA WITHIN
REDEVELOPMENT SURVEY AREA NO. 1 AND TO FORMULATE A
PRELIMINARY PLAN FOR THE REDEVELOPMENT OF THE
PROJECT AREA.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the California Community Redevelopment Law,
the city Council of the City of Seal Beach by Resolution No. 1574
authorized the City Planning Commission and The Redevelopment Agency
of the City of Seal Beach, California, to designate redevelopment
survey areas for study purposes to determine the feasibility of
redevelopment projects within such areasl and
WHEREAS, The Redevelopment Agency by Resolution No. 68~1
desigRated Redevelopment Survey Area No. 1 pursuant to said authority
and determined and found that no property within'wuch designated
area was zoned or used for residential purposes as of the date of
said resolution, and
WHEREAS, The Redevelopment Agency has completed preliminary
studies of a certain area hereinafter described in Exhibit A
within Redevelopmen~ Sur~ey Area No, 1, and has concluded that
commencement of a redevelopment project for said area is feasible;
and
WHEREAS, Section 33322 of the California Communtiy Redevelopment
law provides that if directed by the City Council the Planning
Commission shall select one or more project areas comprised of all
or part of a redevelopment survey area, and
WHEREAS, it is hereby determined that a redevelopment project
for the area described in the Redevelopment Survey Area No.1, is
in the best interests of the City and should be initiated.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that:
1. It is hereby determined and found that neither on the
date of this resolution nor at any time since February 20, 1967
was any property included in the Redevelopment Survey Area No. 1
zoned, developed and used as residential pro~erty.
2. The City Council hereby directs the City Planning Commission
to select hhe boundaries for the proposes Riverfront Redevelopment
Project, as shown on the Map attached hereto as Exhibit Band
incorporated herein.

3. The City Cojncil further directs the City Planning Commission
to formulate a preliminary plan for the redevelopment of the proposed
project in cooperation with The Redevelopment Agency of the City of
Seal Beach, California, and to submit the preliminary plan to the
Agency for the preparation of an official redevelopment plan for
the proposed Riverfront Redevelopment Project.
