HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Res 1755 1969-03-17 ~ " " .' ~ 1 RESOLUTION NUMBER 1155' A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH, CALIFORNIA, RELATING TO ASSEMBLY BILL NUMBER 236. WHEREAS, heretofore school districts were not empowered under the law to enter into contracts with cities or library districts relating to interchangeable use of facilities; and WHEREAS, in the best interest of public service and interchangeable use of library facilities it is desirable for this power to con- tract to exist; and WHEREAS, for the greater and general welfare of the reading and student public of the harbor area it is desirable for this power to be created by the State Legislature so that cities, schools and districts may have the power to contract each with the other for interchangeable library use; and WHEREAS, Assemblyman Robert H. Burke, representing this assembly district, has introduced into legislature Assembly Bill Number 236 to accomplish the aforesaid; -I NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Seal Beach wholeheartedly supports this necessary legislation which will enlarge the capacity and power of the city, library districts and school districts to create interchangeable use of structures among themselves; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that each of the aforesaid governmental agencies be urged to adopt similar resolutions supporting said Assembly Bill Number 236.
