HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Res 1765 1969-04-21 ,I I I " .- RESOLUTION NUMBER ,.., 1L,5" A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH, CALIFORNIA, EXPRESSING ITS SUPPORT FOR ASSEMBLY BILL NUMBER 23 WHICH WOULD REQUIRE THAT MEETINGS OF THE STATE LEGISLATURE AND ITS COMMITTEES SHALL BE OPEN AND PUBLIC. WHEREAS For many years the prov1s1ons of the Brown Act have required that meetings of legislative bodies of local government transact business only at public meetingsr and WHEREAS The State Legislature is free to conduct its business in privater and WHEREAS Assembly Bill Number 23 would require the Legislature and its committees to conduct their business in public with limited exceptions for executive sessions on personnel matters, national security matters, and party caucusesr NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Seal Beach that this City Council expresses its support for Assembly Bill Number 23, and urges that it be enacted into law.
