A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEAL BEACH CREATING A LIEN UPON CERTAIN PROPERTIES
FOR THE COST OF WEED ABATEMENT.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Seal Beach has, by resolution
pursuant to the law in such cases made and provided, and particularly Act 5197,
Statutes 1915, Page 84 of the General Laws, as amended, declared that noxious and
dangerous weeds growing upon the streets and sidewalks and private property within
the City to be a public nuisance, and ordered the abatement of the same and declared
its intention to create a lien upon the property fronting upon said streets and
sidewalks or upon the property on which said nuisance exists, for the cost of
abatement of the same and
WHEREAS, notice to destroy such weeds has been duly given pursuant to said
resolution and the law in such cases made snd provided, and
WHEREAS, at the time stated in said notice to destroy weeds the City Council
heard and considered all objections or protests to the proposed removal of said
weeds, and at the conclusion of said hearing overruled any and all s~ch objections,
and did thereafter order the Street Department to abate the said nuisance by
removal of said weeds, and
WHEREAS, the Street Department has kept a full and complete account of the
cost of abating such nuisance mentioned in said resolution, in front of and on
each separate lot or parcel of land, and has itemized the cost thereof and has
posted the said report of the cost of abating such nuisances for three days prior
to the 7th day of July, 1969; and said Street Department has further given notice
of the time and place when said report would be submitted to the City Council for
approval and confirmation of said report was and is July 7, 1969, at the Council
Chambers of the City Hall at the hour of 8:00 P.M., of said day.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Seal Beach does resolve
as follows:
SECTION 1: :T1iat'.,said report of the Street Department has been duly conaidered
by the City Council, and there being no objections thereto, said report of said
weeds mentioned in said resolution constituting a nuisance in front of or on each
separate lot or parcel of land where work of removal was performed by the Street
Department, will and shall constitute a lien upon such lots or land until paid,
and the Tax Collector is hereby directed to show said liens in his books and when
tax bills are sent out to the owners of said property, said liens and the amounts
thereof shall be shown in said tax bills.
SECTION 2: That the City of Seal Beach shall have a lien upon all properties
within the City of Seal Beach arising out of the abating of the nuisance mentioned
in said resolution, in front of or on each separate lot or parcel of land where the
work was performed by the Street Depart1lleDt in the abating of the nuisance mentioned
in said resolJ1tion.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Seal Beach
at a meeting thereof held on the 7th day of July, 1969.

NOTICE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT the attached report of the Stree~
Superintendent of the City of Seal Beach will be submitted to
the City Council of Seal Beach for confirmation at the regular
meeting of said Council, to be held on the 7th day of July,
1969. at 8:00 P.M. on said day, at the Council Chamber, at
which time all persons interested may appear and show cause,
if any they have, why the said report should not be confirmed

by the said Council.
