The City Council of the City of Seal BeaCh did, on the 9th day of January, 1956, adopt Resolution No. 914 in order to initiate a proceeding on its own cotion to annex certain new territory described in said Resolution No. 914. SECTION 2. That in Resolution 914 of the City of Seal Beach adopted January 9, 1956, the City Council requested the Orange County Boundary Commission to report as to the definiteness and certainty of the proposed boundaries, and such boundaries were reported upon by said Boundary Commission of the County of Orange, State of California as to the certainty of said boundaries. SECTION 3. That said territory proposed to be annexed to said City of Seal Beach is situated in the County of Orange, State of California and is contiguous to the City of Seal BeRch and uninhabited territory; that said Resolution No. 914 contained a description of said territory in words and figures as hereinafter in this ordinance described. SECTION 4. That on the 17th day of January, 1956 ut a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Seal Bea~ Resolution No. 915 was duly passed and adopted, specifically describing the boundaries of the territory so proposed to be annexed to the City of Seal Beach and designating such territ~y as " HELL~lAN NAVAL DEPOT ANNEXATION", and giving notice of suah annexation and fixing the 29th day of February, 1956 at the hour of 7:30 o'clock P.M. in the City Council Chambers in the City Hall of the City of Seal Beach, as the dat~hour and place for hearing of written protests to said annexation and when and where any person owning real property within such territory so proposed to be annexed and having objections to the proposed annexation might appear before the City Council of the City of Seal Beach and show cause why such territory should not be A~nexpd to the City of Seal Beach and directing. the' pity C1erk tQ,p'up~i~p 0 cause to be published a copy of said Resolution at least twice, but not oftener than onc~ a week, for two consecutive weeks prior to the oate of said hearing, in a newspaper of general ciraulation, printed, ~ published and circulated in the City of Seal Beach, to wit: "Seal Beach Post and Wave" of Seal Beach, Orange County, California, and also in a newspaper of general circulation , printed published and circulated outside the City of Seal Beach but in the County of Orange in which is located the territory hereinafter proposed to be annexed to the City of Seal Beach, to wit: "Santa Ana Register", and directing that said publication be completed at least twenty (20) days prior to the date of hearing hereinaoQve mentioned; and further directing the City Clerk of the City of Seal Beaah to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to euch person to whom land within the terri tOl'y proposed to be annexed is as'sessed in the last equalized county assessment roll available on the date the pro~eedings were initiated, at the address shown on said assessment roll or as 1. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this Ordinance and cause the same to be published once in the "Seal Beach Post and Wave", a newspaper printed, published and circulated in the City of Seal BeaCh.
