AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A COlIDITIONAL EXCEPTION
UlIDER ORDINANCE NO. 406
WHEREAS, after publication and mailing of notice ten (10) ~s prior
5 thereto, the PlAnning CODIIIIi.ssion of the City of Seal Beach held a public hear
6 relative to the petition of Monterey Oil Company (on behalf' of itself and The
7 Texas Company) for permission to make the uses hereins.:f'ter set forth of the
8 hereinafter described property; and
9 WHEREAS, the City Council has received from the Planning Commission
10 its report on such hearing and its recOllllllendation that the conditional eXQeptio
11 hereins.:f'ter set forth be granted; .
12 NOW. THEREFORE. THE CITX COONCIL OF THE CITX OF SEAL BEACH DOES
13 ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
14 Section 1. Notwithstanding, any provisions of Ordinance No. 406 of

the City of Seal Beach to the contrary and as a conditional. exception to the
prOvisions of said ordinance, Monterey Oil Company and The Texas Company, and
17 each of th8!ll. are hereby granted permission to construct, maintain and operate
18 tanks and faclli ties on the following described property wi thin the City for
19 the handling, separating and trans-shipping of production from oil and gas wells:
20 That portion of Lot "C-l", Partition of Rancho Los Alsmitos,
by Los Angeles County Superior Court, Case No. 13527, and
21 recorded in Deed book 14, page 31, Records of Orange County,
California, and also being in the Southwest quarter of Section
22 11, Township 5 South, Range 12 West. S.B.B. /I, M. described as
follows:

That portion bounded on the Northwest by the boundary line of
Rancho Los Alsmitos, as recordsd in Book 1, Page 460 of Patents,
Records of Los Angeles County; on the Northeast by the South-
westerly line of the Pacific Electric Railw~ R1ght-of-W~ as
recorded in Book 92, Page 349 of Deeds, records of Orange County;
on the Southeast by a line, which is parallel to and distant
Southeasterly 239.34 feet, measured at right angles from the
aforementioned boundary of Rancho Los Alsmitos; and on the
Southwest by the Northeasterly line of Bolsa Avenue (80 feet
wide), formerly the State H1gh~ as described in the deed to
the State of California, recorded August 15, 1930 in Book 409,
Page 128 of Ofi'iciaJ. Records, and containing 5.00 acres, more
or less.
SUBJECT. HOWEVER, to the condition that all tanks and shipping facilities, other
than subsurface pipe lines. constructed or maintained on said property shall be
set back at least 300 feet from the center line of Bolsa Avenue, as it now exist
