It is hereby declared to be unlawful and a nuisance for any person, whether as principal, agent, servant, employee or otherwise, to drill any well for oil, gas, or other hydrocarbon substances upon those portions of the territorial limits and boundaries of the City of Seal Beach lying landward from the Pacific Ocean or produce oil or gas or other hydrocarbon substances from any well so located, or to erect, construct or install, or cause to be erected, constructed or installed, or to work upon or assist in any way in the erection, construction or installation of any derriCk, machinery, or other apparatus' or equipment designed or intended to be used for the purpose of drilling or producing any such well located landward from the Pacific Ocean. / Section 2. Every person violating any of the provis- ions of this ordinance s hall be guilty of a misdeme'l.nor and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine not exceeding three hundred dollars ($300.00), or by imprisonment not exoeeding three (3) months, or by both such fine and imprisonment; and every person who shall so viloate any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a separate offense for each day during any portion of which the violation of any of the provisions of this ordinance is committed, continued or permitted. Section 3. Ordinance No. 230, adopted as an inititive measure at an election held on March 7, 1939, is hereby repealed. Election of April 20, 1954 YES 2QL NO 2-79 . Section 2. Every person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine not exceeding three hundred dollars ('300.00), or by imprison- ment not exceeding three (3) months, or by both such fine and imprisonment; and every person who shall so violate any of the provi- sions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty . of a separate offense for each day during any portion of which the violation of any of the provisions of this ordinance is committed, con- tinued or permitted. . Section 3, Ordinance No. 230, adopted as an initiative measure at an election held on March 7, 1939, is hereby repealed.
