ORDINANCE NO. 448
The People of the City of Seal Beach, California, do
ordain as follows:
Section 1. That Section 42 of Ordinance No. 154 of
the City of Seal Beach is hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 42. Except as otherwise herein provided, in
all cases where real estate has been sold, or may hereafter be
sold, to the City for delinquent taxes and the property has not
been deeded to the City as provided in Section 43 of Ordinance
No. 154, the person whose estate has been or may hereafter be
sold, his heirs, executors or other successors in interest
shall have the right to redeem such real estate by paying to
the City Treasurer the amount of taxes, penalties for delin-
quency and costs due thereon at the time of such sale, with
interest on the aggregate amount of said taxes at the rate of
seven percent per annum, and also all taxes that were a lien
upon said real property at the tim~ said taxes became delin-
quent and also all unpaid taxes of every description assessed
against the property for each year since the sale, as shown
on the delinquent assessment rolls in the then permanent cus-
tody of the City Treasurer, or, if not so assessed, then upon
the value of the property as assessed in the year nearest the
time of such redemption, with interest from the first day of
July of eachsaid years, respectively, at the same rate, to the
time of redemption, and also all costs and expenses of such
redemption and the additional penalties prescribed in Section
3817 of the Political Code of the Stmte of California, Amend-
ment of 1929, Statutes of 1929, Chapter 422 and/or subsequent
amendments thereto; the right of redemption provided herein
shall be lost and foreclosed from and after the execution of
the deed to the City provided for in Section 43 of Ordinance
No. 154.
