California. under Ordinance No. 154. entitled RAN ORDINANCE OF THE . CITY OF SEAL BEACH. CALIFORNIA. FOR THE ASSESSMENT AND COLLECTION OF TAXES IN SAID CITY. THE APPOINTMENT OF A DEPUTY CITY CLERK WHO SHALL BE EXOFFICIO TAX ASSESSOR. AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 12. AND ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITHR. - did at a General Municipal Election held in said City on August 14, 1930,and whiCh suoh Ordinanoe was submitted as an Initiative. cast a sutficient number of votes in favor of the adoption of suCh Ordin- ance. relative to the assessment and collection of taxes by said City and for said municipal corporation, and by said Ordinance there 17 was created in said City the Office of a Deputy City Clerk who shall 18 be Ex-Officio Assessor and Tax Collector of said City; and 19 WHEREAS. such Assessor has completed an assessment of all 20 taxable property within the corporate limits of said City subject to 21 taxation in accordance with the provisions of said Ordinance. ~e 22 laws and the Constitution of the State of California, and prepared 23 an assessment roll thereof. and deposited the same with the City 24 Clerk for submission to the City Oouncil of said City. and which 25 City Council has duly equalized the same. showing the total value of 26 all property within the City of Seal Beach tor the corporate year 27 1950-51 as equalized and to be collected. and fixed the sum. as 28 shown by said Assessment Roll tor said year at: $9.596.150.00; and 29 WHEREAS, the amount ot money ascertained and necessary to 30 be raised by taxation upon the taxable property within the Oity ot 31 Seal Beach as a revenue to carry on the various departments of said 32 City. and to pay the bonded indebtedness falling due tor the current Page One. That the total valuation ot the taxable prop- 5 erty of the City of Seal Beaoh is the sum 01' $9,596,150.00, and 6 shall be used as a basis tor the levy 01' the taxes tor the City of 7 Seal BeaCh, Cali1'ornia, whioh levy shall be made and colleoted as 8 by law provided. 9 Seotion 2. That the rate of taxes for municipal purposes 10 and to pay the bonded indebtedness and interest of the City 01' 11 Seal Beach, Calitornia, tor the current year 1950-51 is hereby 12 1'ixed at $1.16 on eaoh One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) of the taxable 13 property ot said City, and said sum is hereby levied upon allot 14 said taxable property ot said City as asoertained and assessed by 15 the City Assessor and equalized by the City Counoil of the City ot 16 Seal BeaCh, Calitornia, as aforesaid, and which rate, so tixed, 17 shall be apportioned among the general and speoial tunds to pay the 18 current expenses, bonded indebtedness and interest and other indebt- 19 edness ot said City talling due for the'tisoal year 1950-51 and 20 other several sums to be raised and tixed as provided by law, as 21 tollows, to wit: 22 1. For the General Fund $.80 on eaoh One Hundred Dollars of 23 the taxable property ot said City; 24 2. For the Munioipal Improvement Bond Fund at 1929 $.0303 on 25 each One Hundred Dollars ot the Taxable property at said City; 26 3. For the Waterworks Bond Indebtedness Fund ot 1921 $.0213 27 on each One Hundred Dollars of the Taxable property of said 'City; 28 4. For the Sew~e Treatment Bond Fund at 1935 #.0239 on eaoh 29 One Hundred Dollars of the taxable property of said City; 30 5. For the Breakwater Bond Fund at 1935 $.0362 on eaoh One 31 undred Dollars ot the taxable property of said city; 32 6. This Ordinance is urgently required for the 10 immediate preservation ot public health, peace and safety. The 11 following is a specific statement showing the urgency ot this 12 Ordinance: That the revenue to be derived trom the taxes to be 13 levied and collected in accordance with the terms hereot is nec- 14 essary for the preservation of public health, peace and safety; 15 and in order tor this Ordinance to be in eftect at the time required 16 tor this year's tax levy, an Ordinance is now immediately reqUired; 17 and further, the City Council declares that this Ordinance is to 18 take etfect immediately in that it is an Ordinance tixing the amount 19 ot money to be raised by taxation and the rate ot taxes to be levied 20 Section 4. The City Clerk shall certity to the passage 21 ot this Ordinance by the City Council of the City of Seal Beach and 22 cause the same to be printed and published once in the nSeal Beach - 23 Post ~ ~n, a newspaper ot general circulation printed, pub- - 24 lished and circulated in the City of Seal Beach, and it is hereby 25 designated tor that purpose. 26 Section 5.
