" .. . . , 1 2 3 41 I 5 6 7 8 9 ORDINANCE NO. f./. {)q , AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH, OALIFORNIA, PROVIDING FOR THE REMOVAL .AND STORAGE OF VEHICLES WHICH HAVE BEEN PARKED OR LEFr STANDING UPON A STREET OR HIGHWAY FOR ONE HUNDRED TWENTY OR MORE OONSECUTIVE HOURS; PROHIBITING THE PARK- ING OF VEHICLES IN ANY ALLEY; PROHIBITING THE PARKING OF VEHICLES ON MAIN STREET, EXCEPT AT AN ANGLE OF FORTY FIVE DEGREES; DECLARING .AN E1.IERGENCY; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION; REPEALING ALL OTHER ORDINANCES IN OONFLICT HEREWITH; PROVIDING FOR PENALTY FOR VIOLATION. 10 The Clty Councl1 of the Clty of Seal Beach, California, 11 does ordain as follows: 12 SECTION.!!. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or 13 corporatlon to park or leave standlng upon any street or highway 14 wlthln the Clty of Seal Beach, any vehicle for one hundred twenty 15 or more oonsecutlve hours. 16 SECTION 2: Every pollce officer of the City of Seal 17 Beach Is authorlzed to remove and store any vehicle parked 18 within the Clty of Seal Beach in violatlon of any provlslon 19 of the California Motor Vehicle Code, or the provislons of this 20 ordinance, and is hereby authorized and dlreoted to remove 21 and store such vehiole in the manner and. as provided by Seotion 22 585 of the California Motor Vehicle Code. 23 SEOTION ~ It shall be unlawful for any person, firm 24 or corporation to leave standing or parked any vehlcle upon 25 any alley withln the City of Seal Beach. 26 SECTION.!!. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm 27 or corporation to park or leave standing any vahio1e on Main 28 Street between Ocean Boulevard and 101 Highway within the 29 City of Seal Beach in any manner whatsoever, except at an 30 angle ot forty five degrees and between painted lines upon sald 31 Main Street, providing that all vehioles Shall be parked upon 32 said Main Street in such position that the front of such vehlcle DANA R. The C1ty Counc1l does l:1ereby declare tl:1at 3 an emergency exists affecting tl:1e public peace, health and 4 safety of the c1t1zens of the C1ty of Seal Beach and tl:1e facts 5 constituting such an emergency are as follows: During the 6 swmner season, large number of veh1cles are parked upon the 7 streets of the City and tl:1ere is no present ex1st1ng ordinance 8 prov1d1ng for parking of veh1cles with1n the C1ty, and tl:1at 9 unless an ord1nance is 1mmed1ately adopted, confusion will 10 result as to tl:1e proper parking of vel:1icles w1tl:1in the C1ty, 11 and further, tl:1e C1ty Council declares that tl:1is ordinance 1s 12 to take effect immediately. 13 SECTION 6: All ordinanoes or parts of ordinances 1n - 14 conflict w1tl:1 tl:1is ord1nance are hereby repealed. 15 SECTION 1!. Any person, f1rm or corporation violating 16 any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be gu1lty of a l7 misdemeanor and upon oonviction thereof, shall be punished by 18 a fine not exceeding Three Hundred ($300.00) DOllars, or tm- 19 prisonment in jail for a period not exceed1ng tl:1irty (30) days, 20 or by botl:1 such fine and tmpr1sonment. 2l SECTION 8: Tl:1e City Clerk sl:1all certify to the passage 22 of this ordinance by the C1ty Council of tl:1e C1ty of Seal Beach 23 and cause the same to be printed and published once in tl:1e SEAL 24 BEACH POST AND WAVE, a newspaper of general cirCUlation, printed, 25 pub11shed and circulated in tl:1e City of Seal Beacl:1, and it 1s 26 hereby des1gnated for that purpose. 27 SECTION 9: Th1s ordinance shall take effect immediately 28 upon 1ta adoption. 29 PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the C1ty Council of the 30 C1ty of Seal Beacl:1, this 16th day of July, 31 32 ATTEST: DANA R.
