2 The City of Seal Beach, by and through its City Counoil,
3 does ordain as follows:
4 WHEREAS, the l' egistered voters of ths City of Seal Beach,
5 California, under Ordinance No. 154, entitled: "AN ORDINANCE OF
6 THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH, CALIFORNIA, FOR THE ASg,ESSMENT AND COLIEC-
7 TION OF TAXES IN SAID CITY, THE APPOINTMENT OF A DEPUTY CITY CLERK
8 WHO SHALL BE EX-OFFICIO TAX ASSESSOR, AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO.
9 12, AND ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH'"
10 did at a General Municipal Election held in said City on August 14t ,
11 1930, a nd which suoh Ordinanoe was submitted as an Initiative, oas
12 a sufficient number of votes in favor of the adoption of such Ordi-

nance, relative to the a88essmsnt and collection of taxes b,. said
City and for said municipal oorporation, and by said Ordinance
there was created in said City the Office of a Deputy City Clerk I

who shall be Ex-Officio Assessor and Tax Collector of said City; and

WHEREAS, such Assessor has oompletsd an Assessment of all
18 taxable property within the corporate limits of said City sUbJeot
19 to ta xation in accordance with the proviSions of said Ordinance,
20 the laws and tbll Constitution of the State of California, and pre-
21 pared an a888asment roll thereOf, and deposited the same with the
22 City Clerk for submission to the City Counoil of said City, and
23 which City Council has duly equalized the same, showing tbll total
24 value of all property within the City of Seal Beach tor the corpor-
25 ate year 1951-1952' as equalized and to be colleoted, and fixed,the
26 sum, as shown by said Assessment Roll for said year at:

WHEREAS, the amount of money ascertained and necessary to be
raised by taxation upon the taxable property within the City of
Seal Beach as a revenue to carryon the various departments of said
City, and to pay the bonded indebtedness falling due for the cur-
rent ~ ar 1951-1952 18 fixed at the sum of ti 130,855.00 ;

1 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, as,

SECTION!!. Tbat the total valuation of the taxable property
of the City of Seal Beach is the sum of . 10,066,130.00
, and
5 shall be used as a basis for tile levy of the taxes for the City of
6 Seal Beaoh, CBlifornla, whioh levy shall be made and colleoted as
7 by law provided.

SECTION &t That the rate of taxes for municipal purposes anf
to pay the bonded indebtedness and interest of the City of Seal
10 Beach, California, for the current year 1951-1952 is hereby fixed
11 at $_1~ ~O on each One Hundred Dollars of the taxable property of
12 said City, and said sum is hereby Jwied upon all of said taxable
l3 property of said City as ascertained and assessed by the City As-
14 sessor end equalized by the City Counoil of the City of Seal Beach,

SECTION ~: This Ordinance is urgently required for the immed-
13 iate preservation of public health, peace, and safety. The fol10w-
14 ing is a speoific statement showing the urgency of this Ordinance:
15 That the revenue to be derived from the taxes to be levied
16 and oollected in aocordance with the terms hereof is neoessary for

the preservation of public health, peace, and safety; and in order
for this ordinance to be in effect in time required for this year's
tax levy, an ordinance is now immediately required.
SECTION 4: The City Clerk shall certify to the separate vote
on the urgency of this Ordinance and its passage and adoption by a
22 vote of five members of the City Council of the City of Seal Beach,
23 and its approval by the Mayor of the City of Seal Beach, ar.d cause
24
the same to be published once in the SEAL BEACH POST AND WAVE, a
25 newsnaper printed, published, and circulated in the City of Seal
Beach, and upon such publication this Ordinance shall become immed-
iately operative and take full effect.
