RESOLUTION NO.J'IlIe A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH, CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE: FACT OF ~BE PRIMKRZ MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN SAID CITY OF SEAL BEACH ON THE 26TH DAY OF APRIL, 1966, DECLARING THE RESULT THEREOF AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS ARE PROVIDED BY LAW. WHEREAS, a regular primary nominating election was held and conducted in the City of Seal Beach, County of Orange, Stat& of California, on Tuesday, the 26th day of April, 1966, as required by law; and WHEREAS, notice of said election was duly and regularly given in time, form and manner as provided by law; that voting pri~cincts were properly established; that election officers were appo~nted and that in all respects said election was held and conducted and the votes cast thereat, received and oanvassed and the returns made and deolared in time, form and manner as required by the provisions of the Eleotions Code of the State of California for the holding of eleotions in oities; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 1427 adopted the 21st day of March, 1966, the City Clerk of the City of Seal Beaoh oanvassed the returns of said eleotion and has oertified the results to this City Counoil, said results are reoeived, attaohed and made s:. part hereof as "Exhi bi t A:." NOW. THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That there were 21 voting preoinots estab- lished for the purpose of holding s:aid eleotion oonsisting (of oonsolidations) of the regular eleotion preoinots: in the City of Seal Beaoh as established for the holding of state and oounty eleotions. SECTION 2. That said regular primary nominating eleotion was held for the purpose of electing the following officers of said City as required by the lawS relating to oities in the State of California, to wit: I I 1 .i:' " - ""... One Member of the City Council of said City for the term of two years-; DISTRICT NO.3. One Member of the City Council ot said City for the full term ot four years. DISTRICT No.5. , One Member ot the City Council of said City for the tull term of tour years. SECTION 3. That the whole number ot votes cast in said City (except absent voter 'ballots) was 3653. That the whole number of absent voter ballots cast in said City was 76, making a total of 3729 votes cast in said City. SECTION 4. That the names ot persona voted tor at said election tor Member of the City Council ot said City are as tollows: For Member of the City Council, District No.1. Four Year Term Vote tor one. Stanley G. Anderson - Incumbent For Member ot the City Council, District No.2. Two Year Term Vote for one. Dean H. Gemmill - Incumbent For Member ot the City Council, District No.3. Four Year Term Vote tor one. Henry A. Steddam - Incumbent John Bentley Hamilton For Member of the City Council, District No.5. Four Year Term Vote tor one. Herman Deitchman - Beauty Culture Leslie M. That t~e number of votes given at each precinct and the number of votes given in the City to each of such persons above named for the respective offices for which said persons were candidates were listed in Exhibit "A"' attached. SECTION 5. The City Council does declare and determine that: Stanley G. Anderson was elected as Member of the City CouncU of said City for the full term of four years; Dean H. Gemmill was elected as Member of the City Counci1 of said City for the term of two years; John B. Hamilton was elected as Member of the City Council for the .:rull term of four years; Leslie M. Dreis' was elected as Member of the City Council for the full term of four years; SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall enter on the records of' the City Council of said City, a statement of the result of said election, showing: (1) The whole number 9f, vo~es' cast in the city; (2) The n~es of the persons voted for; (3) For what office each person was voted for; (4) The number of v.otes given at each precinct to each person. (5) The D.U1llber of votes given in, the city to each person. SECTION 7. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original Resolutions of said City; and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
