The City of Seal Beaoh, by and through its City Counoil,
does ordain as follo"'~..
WHEREAS, the registered voters of the City of Seal Beaoh,
California, under Ordinance No. 154, entitled: "AN ORDINANCE OF
THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH, CALIFORNIA, FOR THE ASSESSMENT AND COLLEC-
TION OF TAXES IN SAID CITY, THE APPOINTMENT OF A DEPUTY CITY CLERK
WHO SHALL BE EX-OFFICIO TAX ASSESSOR, AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO.
12, AND ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH II ,
did at a General Municipal Election held in said City on August 14t ,
1930, and whioh such Ordinance was submitted as an Initiative, cast
a suffioient number of votes in favor of the adoption of such Ordi-
nanoe, relative to the assessment and collection of taxes by said
Ci ty and for said municipal corporation, and by said Ordinance
there was created in said City the Office of a Deputy City Clerk
who shall be Ex-Officio Assessor and Tax Collector of said City: an
WHEREAS, suoh Assessor has oompleted an Assessment of all

18 taxable property within the oorporate limits of said City' subJeot
19 to taxation in accordanoe wi th the proVisions of said Ordinanoe,
20 the laws and the Constitution of the State of California, and pre-
21 pared an assessment roll thereof, and deposited the same with the
22 City Clerk for submission to the City Council of said C1ty, and
23 whioh City Counc1l has duly equalized the same, ehowing the total
24 value of all property within the City of Seal Beaoh for the corpor-
25 ate year 1949-1950 as equalized and to be collected, and tixed the
26 sum, as ehown by said Assessment Roll for said year at:
27 89,095,210: and
28 WHEREAS, the amount of money ascertained and necessary to be
29 raised b;y taxation upon the taxable property within the City of
30 Seal Beach as a revenue to oarry on the various departments of said

31 City, and to pay the bonded indebtedness falling due for the our-
32 rent year 1949-1950 18 fixed at the sum of $122,454:

1 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, as
2 follows:
3 SECTION I: That the total valuation of the taxable propert;y
4 of the City of Seal Beach is the sum of $9,095,210, and shall be
5 used as a basis for the levy ot the taxes for the City of Seal
6 Beach, California, which levy shall be made and collected as b;y
7 law provided.
8 SECTION 2: That the rate Of taxes for munioipal purposes and
9 to pa;y the bonded indebtedness and interest of the City of Seal
10 Beach, California, tor the current year 1949-1950 is hereby fixed
11 at 11.36 on each One Hundred Dollars of the taxable property of
12 sa1d City, and sa1d sum is hereby levied upon all of said taxable
13 property of sa1d Cit;y as ascertained and assessed by the City As-
14 sessor and equalized by the City Counoil of the City of Seal Beach,
15 California, as aforesa1d, and which rate, so fixed, shall be ap-
16 portioned among the general and speoial funds to pa;y the ourrent ex-
17 penses, bonded indebtedness and interest and other indebtedness of
18 sa1d City falling due for the fiscal year 1949-1950 and other sev-
19 eral sums to be raised and fixed as provided by law, as follows, to-
20 wi t :
21 1. For the General Fund $1.00 on eaoh One Hundred Dollars
22 of the taxable property of sa1d City:
23 2. For the Municipal Improvement Bond Fund of 1929 1.0309
24 on each One Hundred Dollars of the Taxable property of said City;
25 3. For the Waterworks Bond Indebtedness Fund ot 1921 $.0222
26 on each One Hundred Dollars of the taxable property of sa1d City:
27 4. For the Sewage Treatment Bond Fund of 1935 $.0247 on each
28 One Hundred Dollars of the taxable property ot said City:
29 5. For the Breakwater Bond Fund of 1935 1.0372 on eaoh One
30 Hundred Dollars of the taxable property of sa1d City;
31 6. For the Waterworks Bond Fund of 1935 $.0267 on each One
32 Hundred Dollars of the taxable property of said City:

11 SECTION 3: This Ordinance is urgentl;Y required tor the
12 immediate preservation of public health, peace and safety. The fol-
13 lowing is a speoifio statement showing the urgenc;y of this 01'41-
14 nance:
15 That the revenue to be derived from the taxes to be leVied
16 and oollected in accordanoe with the terms hereof is necessary for
17 the preservation of public health, peace and safety: and in order
18 for th1s or41nance to be in effect in time required for this year's
19 tax levy, an ordinance is now immediately required.
20 SECTION 4: The City Clerk shall certify to the separate vote
21 on the urgency of th1s Ordinance and its passage and adoption by a
22 vote of four members of the City Council of the City of Seal Beach,
23 and its approval by the Mayor of the Ci t;y of Seal Beach, and cause
24 the same to be published once in the SEAL BEACH POST AND WAVE, a
25 newepaper printed, published and ciroulated in the City of Seal
26 Beach, and upon suoh publioation th1s Or41nance shall become imme-
27 41ately operative and take full effect.
