The City of Seal Beach, by and through its City Council, does ordain as follows: SECTION 1: Any person, firm or corporation engaged in the business of running, driving, or operating any automobile, motor truck, or other vehicle used for the delivery to an established dealer or place of business, any ice oream, confections, bakery goods, milk, buttermilk, cottage cheese, crsam, meats, game, fish, .. poultry, beverages, fruits, vegetables, groceries or any product or cOllllllodity intended for human consumption, the sum of $20.00 per \ annum for each vehicle. SECTION 2: Any person, firm or corporation engaged in the business of running, driving or operating any automobile, motor truck or other vehicle used.in the delivery to an established plaoe of business or dealer, any goods, wares or merchandise, other than food products and beverages, the sum of $20.00 per annum for each vehicle. SEC~IOR 3: Any person, firm or corporation engaged in the business of running, driving or operating any automobile, motor truck or tank truck used in the delivery of petroleum products to an established dealer, the sum of $15.00 per annum for each vehicle. SECTION 4: Any person, firm or corporation, managing, conducting or carrying on the business of a retail distributor or peddler of milk, buttermilk, cottage cheese, meats, game, fish, ice cream, eggs, fruit, bread, crackers, c~tes, pies or other bakestuffs, confections, or other edibles intended for use as food for human consumption, by means of any automobile, motor truck or ot~r vehicle, shall pay a license tax of $20.00 per annum. PrOVided, however, anything in this Section to the contrary not- withstanding, it is hereby deolared unlawful, and shall constitute a misdemeanor, for any person, firm or corporation to retail, sell, deliver or distribute any of the commodities mentioned in this Sea- 1. Boulevard within the corporate limits of the Oity of Seal Beach; except that this proceedure shall not effect the delivery, peddling and distri- bution of commodities herein mentioned to established residences seaward of Ocean Avenue. SEOTION 5: Any person, firm or corporation engaged in the bus- iness of running any automobile, motor truck or other vehicle for the collection and/or delivery of clothes for cleaning or pressing, or dye works, shall pay an annual license tax of $20.00 per annum. SEOTION 6: Any person, firm or corporation engaged in the bus- iness of running any automobile, motor truck or other vehicle, not specifically mentioned in this ordinance, for the purpose of trans- portation of baggage, freight, household goods, merchandise, lumber, brick, cement, rock or gravel, or other building materials, shall pay an annual license tax of $20.00 per annum. SEOTION 7: The rate of license for operating music machines, as that term is hereinafter defined in any place of business, in the Oity of Seal Beach, shall be $10.00 per annum for each music machine or phonograph installed, attached or operated. The term IIMusic Machine II , as used in this Ordinance, is intended to mean, and shall mean, any machine which has recordings, either music or talking, upon placing therein of a coin, disk, slug or other representativ.e of value. SEOTION 8: For every person, firm or corporation engaged in the business of commercial printing in the City of Seal Beach, the sum of $15.00 per annum. SEOTION 9: For every person conducting, managing or carrying on the business, or engaged in any business or profession herein- after enumerated, shall pay a license tax of $25.00 per annum: Architect Optometrist Attorney at Law Optician Ohiropodist Osteopath Ohiropractor Physician Dentist Surgeon 2 v I ~ I I ! , r I ~ '\ " ~ I '., Ordinance-Number . SECTION 10: For every business. trade. calling. occupation. art or profession not licensed by some section of this Ordinance. and or by Ordinance No. 225. tho rate of license for carrying on the same shall be tho sum of $25.00 p3r annum. and where in this ordinance. any business. trade. oalling or occupation oan be. or is construod to be lioensed und3r two sections. and in such soctions a different rate of license tax is imposed. then the highost rate of license shall be deemed to be the lioense fixed for suoh trade. busines~. calling or occupation. SECTION 11: For every person. firm or corporation engaged in the business of manufacturing. the sum of $25.00 per annum; provided. howeve~. that should a person. firm or corporation con- ducting a manufacturing busincss. have also in connection a retail store or outlet. where they themselves dispose of their product at retail. The lioense fee shall be $ 15.00 per annum. ~ECTION 12: The rate of license for engaging in or carrying on tho business of a fishing barge. as that term is herein after defined. shall be the sum of $ 25.00 per annum per barge. an in this connection. for the purpose of this Ordinanoe. a fishing o and construed to mean a floating barge shall be deemed. held structure anchored in the waters of the Paoifio Ocean. within the exterior boundaries of the City of Seal Beaoh. for the purpose of receiving persons on board th~reof for a oonsideration. ~CTION 13: The rate of license for oa~rying on or engag- ing in the business of reoeiving and transporting persons from the Municipal Pior or othcr points. without or within the City of Seal Beaoh. to and from any bargo or other fishing point. shall be the sum of $ 25.00 per annum. SEC~ION 14: The rate of license for conduoting. manaeing or carrying on or engaging in the business of leasing or hiring. charter boats for rod and reel fishing. either as owner or operator. 3. ~"'. O~er annum. ~ECTION 15: The rate of license for engaging in the businesR of operating a live bait boat from the Municipal Pier or within the City of Seal Boach, into the waters of the Pacific Ocean, shall be the Rum of ~.QQper boat, and in this connection, . a live bait boat, for tho purpose of thiR Ordinance, shall be deemed, held and construed to mean a powered floating structure, that rnceives and transports persons, for the purpos$ of affording such persons an opportunity o~ fishing from such structureR, in . the wP.t"rs of the Pacific Ocean, for recreation, for a consideration with live bait, and which boat carries a live bait tank and pump. SECTIQN: 16t The rate of license for managing or carrying I on, or engaging in the business of receiving and transporting personR from the Municipal Pier, for a consideration, in speed bopts, sightseeing boats or sail boats, shall be the sum of ~25.00 per snnum per boat. SECTION 17: Ordinance No. 185 of the City of Sr'al Beach is herebv repealed. 'lECTION IS: This ordinance doeq not repeal, refer to, or in any way amend Ordinance No. 225 of the City of Snal Beach. ,'>.Ji:CTION 19: Any vIolation of the proviRions of this Ordincnce is declared to be a misdoMeanor, and shall be punishable by a fino of not more than three hundred dollars ($300.00) or by imprisonment in the City Jail of the City of Seal Bench for a period of not more than ninety (90) days, or by both suoh fine and imprisonment.
