HomeMy WebLinkAboutPC Min 1978-07-05 . - - ~ MINUTES OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING OF JULY 5 1978 THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH MET IN REGULAR SESSION ON WEDNESDAY JULY 5 1978 AT 7 30 P M IN THE rOUNCIL CHAMBERS OF THE CITY ADMINISTRATION BUILDING THE MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER BY CHAIRMAN KNAPP AT 7 30 AND THE PLEDGE TO THE FLAG WAS LED BY VICE CHARlMAN COOK PRESENT Knapp EXCUSED ABSENCE Cov1ngton Lann1ng R1pperdan Cook The m1nutes of the June 21st meet1ng were approved as presented PUBLIC HEARINGS A S1gnal Realty, V-10-78 App11cant 1S request1ng a Var1ance to perm1t reduct10n 1n 10ad1ng zone S1ze 1n con]Unct10n w1th the construct10n of a small commerc1al bU1ld1ng at 1200 Pac1f1c Coast H1ghway Pub11c Hear1ng Opened No one spoke Cha1rman Knapp moved to postpone the hear1ng unt1l such t1me as a representat1ve of S1gnal Realty could be present Unan1mously approved by members present MINUTE ORDER B John Artukov1ch V-11-78 App11cant 1S request1ng a Var1ance from the Home Occupat10n prOV1S10ns of the Zon1ng Ord1nance to perm1t l1m1ted off1ce use 1n a bU1ld1ng located at C-17 Surfs1de Pub11c Hear1ng Opened W1ll1am Centobene B-70 Surfs1de Pres1dent of the Board of D1rectors for Surfs1de Colony spoke for Mr Artukov1ch Mr Centobene stated that the app11cant had approval from the Board and that the app11cant has comp11ed w1th all requests of the Board Cha1rman Knapp asked 1f the ma1n 10cat10n of the bus1ness was 1n fact at C-17 Surfs1de and 1f any ~ and or all heavy equ1pment would be relocated to Surfs1de Mr Centobene rep11ed to the quest10ns stat1ng the ma1n bus1ness was 1n Fontana would rema1n there and that all heavy equ1pment would also rema1n at the Fontana 10cat10n Mr Cook quest10ned the poss1b1l1ty of other persons from Surfs1de address1ng the Board w1th the same type of bus1ness and what the Boards react10n to that would be Mr Centobene stated that there were several contractors res1d1ng 1n the Colony and d01ng bus1ness from there home Secretary noted that there were three (3) such contractors l1censed w1th the C1ty of Seal Beach but that Mr Artukov1ch d1d not res1de at the same 10cat10n as the requested Var1ance Mr Covington asked how many add1t10nal un1ts were on the second floor of C-17 Surfs1de Mr Centobene stated there were four seperate un1ts Mr Cov1ngton asked the reason for rezon1ng of the Surfside area Secretary stated change was due to lot S1 e Mr Cov1ngton asked 1f the proposed 10cat10n was on a larger lot and what the lot S1ze was recorded as Mr Centobene stated that the lot was cons1derably larger - 60 x 100 actual S1ze Pub11c Hear1ng Closed Cha1rman Knapp moved to approve V-11-78 w1th revaluat10n after one year Seconded by Lann1ng D1scuss10n followed Mr Cook quest10ned the lega11ty of approv1ng a Var1ance w1thout representat10n of the App11cant Mr Cov1ngton was 1n agreement w1th Mr Cook and added that there should be a st1pulat10n of no customer V1s1tat10n due to park1ng and prLvate gate entrance AYES Knapp Lann1ng NOES Cook Cov1ngton ABSENT R1pperdan MOTION FAILED --. _I . .
