AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH,
CALIFORNIA, FIXING T!-,", RATE uF TAXES NECESSARY
AS A REVlJUE TO CARRY OIf THE VARIOUS DEPART-
MENTS OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH, AND TO PAY
THE BONDED INDEBTEDNESS FALLING DUE FOR THE
CURRENT YEAR 1946-~7; FIXING Tm: RATE OF TAXA-
TION FOR THE CURRENT YEAR 1946-47; DESIGNATING
TH'::: NUMBER OF CENTS ON EACH ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS
OF PROPERTY VALUATICN FOR THE VARIOUS FUNDS OF
SAID CITY UPON THE ~IHOLE OF THE TAXABLE PROP-
ERTY OF SAID CITY AS ASSESSED BY THE CITY AS-
SESSOR AND EQUALIZED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
SAID CITY AND HEREBY LEVIED UPON Tm:: i7HOLE OF
SUCH TAXABLE PROPERTY OF SAID CITY OF SEAL
BEACH.

10 The City Council of the City of Seal Beach, California
11 does ordain as follows:
12 VffiEREAS, the registered voters of the City of Seal
13 Beach, California, under Ordinance No. 154, entitled: "An
14 Ordinance of the City of Seal Beach, California, for the a~sess-
15 ment and collection of taxes in said City, the appointment of a
II 16 Deputy City Clerk who shall be Ex-Officio Tax Assessor, and Re-
17 pealing Ordinance No. 12, and all Ordinances or parts of Ordinances
18 in conflict herewith," did at a General lIlunicpal Election held
19 in said City on April 14th, 1930, and which such Ordinance was

20 submitted as an Initiative, cast a sufficient number of votes in
21 favor of the adoption of such Ordinance, relative to the assess-
22 ment and collection of taxes by said City and for said municipal
23 corporation, and by said Ordinance there was created in said City
24 the Office of a Deputy City Clerk who shall be Ex-Officio Assessor
25 and Tax Collector of said City; and
26 ~EREAS, such assessor has completed an assessment of
27 all taxable property within the corporate limits of said City
28 subje~ to taxation in accordance with the provisions of said
29 Ordinance, the laws and the Constitution of the State of CalifOrnia
.30 and prepared an assessment role thereof, and deposited the same

31 with the City Clerk for submission to the City Council of said
32 City, and which City Conncil has duly oqual1zed the same, showing

1 the total value of all property within the City of Seal Beach for
2 the corporate year 1946-47 as equalized and to be collected, and
I 3 fixed the sum, as shown by said Assessment Roll for said year at:
4 $7,285,810.00; and
5 fffiEREAS, the amount of money ascertained and necessa
6 to be raised by taxation upon the taxable property within the City
7 of Seal Beach as a revenue to carryon the various departments of
8 said City, and to pay the bonded indebtedness falling due for the
9 current year 1946-47 is fixed at the sum of $113,654.00;
10 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, a
11 follows:
12 Section 1: That the total valuation of the taxable
13 property of the City of Seal Beach is the sum of $7,285,810.00
14 and shall be used as a bisis for the levy of taxes for the
15 City of Seal Beach, California, which levy shall be made and col-

Section 2: That the rate of taxes for municipal
purposes and to pay the bonded indebtedness and interest of the
City of Seal Beach, California, for the current year 1946-47 is
hereby fixed at $1.56 on each one hundred dollars of the taxable
property of said City, and said sum is hereby levied upon all of
said taxable property of said City as ascertained and assessed
by the City Assessor and equalized by the City Council of the City
of Seal Beach, California, as aforesaid, and which rate, so fixed,
shall be apportioned among the general and special funds to p~y
the current expenses, bonded indebtedness and interest and other
indebtedness of said City falling due for the fiscal year 1946-47
and other several sums to be raised and fixed as provided by law,
as follows, to wit:
1. For the General Fund $1.00 on each one hundred
dollars of taxable property of the said City;

14 one hundred dollars of the taxable property of said City;
15 9. For the ~aterworks Bond Fund of 1935 $ .0359 on each
16 one hundred dollars of the taxable property of said City;

10. For the Uunicipal Pier Bond Fund of 1938 Series One
18 $ .0595 on each one hundred dollars of the taxable property of said
19 City;
20 11. For the Uunicipal Pier Bond Fund of 1938 Series Two
21 $ .0409 on each one hundred dollars of the taxable property of said
22 City;

Section 1: The City Clerk shall cause this Ordinance to be
24 published once in the Seal Beach Post & \lave, . a newspaper printed,
25 published and generally circulated in the City of Seal Beach,
26 California, and it shall thereupon take effect at the time and in
27 the manner as provided by law.
