Be it ordained by the City Council of the City I: I I DANA R. WILLIAMS ATTORNEY AT LAW 421 SECURITY BLDG PHONE 8118-193 LONG BEACH 2, CALIF. 3 4 5 6 of 7 Seal Beach: Section 1: The Chief of 'Police of the City of 8 Seal Beach is hereby empowered and directed to 9 establish and designate areas within the City of 10 seal Beach for the parking of motor v.ehicles, which 11 I areas may be designated either as permanent restricted 12 areas or temporary restricted areas; providing 13 further that the Chief of poliue may designate 14 a time limit within which motor vehicles may notlaw- 15 fully park in such restricted areas. 16 i Section 2: It shall be unlawful for any person, 17 firm or corporation to park any motor vehicle in a 18 temporary or permanent restricted area upon the 19 public streets in the City of Seal Beach as may be 20 designated by the Chief of police of said City. Section 3: Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be fined in any sum not less than Cl.OO nor 24 more than $100.00. Section 4: The City Gouncil deems that an emergency exists, the facts constituting such effiergenc 21 22 23 25 26 27 being as follows: 28 Because of the large number of v.isitors to the 29 City on Sunday and holidays and particularly near 30 . the beach, it has become necessary to regulate the 31 parking of vehicles upon the public streets near the 32 beach. -1- I I 1 Because of the danger to visitors and local citizens, it is deemed necessary that immediate provisions be made to designate certain streets and portions of streets as temporary or permanent 4 restricted areas for the parking of cars; and by reason of the approaching summer season resulting in large numbers of persons visiting the city on Sundays and Holidays, it is deemed necessary that this ordinance take immediate effect upon its final passage; and publication as provided by law. Section 4~ This ordinance is hereby determine to be an emergency meas~re necessary to preserve the public peace, health and safety and shall 13 take effect immediately upon its publication. Section 5: The City Olerk shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be 'published once in the Seal Beach Post and Wave, a newspaper of general circulation, printed, published and circulated in the City of Seal Beach, and it is hereby designated for that purpose and said ordinance shall thereupon take effect in the manner and at the time as prescribed by law.
