If the frontage or any piece or parcel of property in separate ownership is greater than 100 feet, notices shall be poste at not more than 100 feet apart. Such notice shallbe headed ''Notice to Destroy Weeds," such heading to be in words not less th one inch in height and substantially in the following form: "NarICE TD DESTROY WEEDS" Notice is hereby given that on the 2nd day of April, 1962, the City Council of the City of Seal Beach passed a reso1utio declaring that nozious or dangerous weeds were growing upon or in front of the property on this street, and more par- ticularly described in said resolution, and that the same constitutes a public nuisance which must be abated by the removal of said noxious weecj,s, otherwise they will be removed and the nuisance will be abated by the municipal authorities, in which case the cost of such removal sull be assessed upon the lots and lands from which or in front of which such weeds are removed, and such costs will con- . stitute a lien upon such lots or lands until paid. Refer- ence is hereby made to said resolution for further particu- lars. All property owners having any objections to the proposed removal of such weeds are hereby notified to attend a meeting of the City Council of the City of Seal Beach to be held on the 16th day of April, 1962, at the hour of 7:30 P. M. o'clock, When their objections will be heard and given consideration. DATED: This 2nd day of April, 1962. SECTION 3: That the proceedings herein provided for shall be had and taken \D1der and in accordance with an Act of the Legislat of the State of Calif omia, entitled "Act 5197, Deering I s General Laws, Statutes 1915," Page 814, by Statutes 1947, Chapter 341, amended by Articles 1, 2 and 3 of Chapter 13, Government Code, and as otherwise amended. SECTION 4: That after final action has been taken by the Cit Co\D1cil on the disposition of any protests or objections, or in ca e no protests or objections have been received, the City Council of the City of Seal Beach, _ by motion or resolution, shall order the Street Superintendent, or such other public officer as the City Council shall designate, to abate said nuisance by having the weed referred to removed, and he or his assistants or deputies are here y expressly authorized to enter upon private property for that purpo Any property owner shall have the right to have any such weeds removed at his own expense providing the same is done prior to the arrival of the Street Superintendent or such other public officer so designated or his representative to do the same. SECTION 5: That the Street Superintendent or such other pub ic officer so designated shall keep an aCCO\D1t of the cost of abating such nuisance in front of or on each separate lot or parcel of lan where the work is done by him or his deputies, and shall render an itemized report in writing to the City Council of the City of Seal Beach showing the cost of removing such weeds on each separat lot, or in front thereof, or both. provided, that before such r~port is submitted to said City Council a copy of the same shall be posted for at least three (3) days prior thereto on or near the bulletin board located on the first floor of the City Hall, to- -5- 1 I 2 . . ~ ~ .
