T~e Chief of Police may also, with concurrence of the Mayor, when the same is deemed necessary for the preservation of the pUblic order, appoint additional police officer and shall perform such other services as the General Laws Of the State, Ordinances, Resolutions and Motions of the City Council may reqUire.
