TO THE QUALIFIED VOTERS OF SAID CITY THE PROPOSITION OF INCURRING A BONDED INDEBTEDNESS FOR THE ACQUISITION, CONSTRUCTION AND COMPLETION BY SAID CITY OF SEAL BEACH OF A, CERTAIN MUloTlCIPAL IMPROVEMEI'lT, TOWIT: THE ACQUISITION, CONSTRUCTION AND COMPLETION OF A WHARF, OR MUNICIPAL PIER. INCLUDING ORNAMENTAL LIGHTS, WATER, REST ROOMS, BOAT LAImING FACILITIES, THE ACQUISITION OF LAND. RECLAMATION OF SUBMERGED LANm, RIGHT OF WAY, MACHINERY, ~UIPMENT, APPARATUS OR OTHER APPURTENANCES AND OTHER PROPERTY NECESSARY THEREFOR. WHEREAS, the City Council 'of the City of Seal Beach, Califo~nia, did at a regular meeting thereof held on the 3rd day of March, 1938, by a vote of more than twe-thirds of a11,its members, duly pass and adopt a resolution entitled: " A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Seal Beach,'California, Declaring that the Public Inter- est and Necessity Demand the Acquisition and Construction of a Certain Municipal Improvement, Stating the Gost thereof and Finding that such Cost is too great ~o be paid out of the Ordinamy Annual Income and ~ Revenues of said City~ which resolution was numbered Resolution N~~. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Seal BeaCh, do ordain I as follows: Section 1: That at the General Municipal Election to ,be held on Tuesday, April 12th, 1938, in the City of Seal Beach, California, there be submitted to the qualified voters of said City the proposi- tion of incurring indebtedness and issuing bonds of said City there- for in the amount and for the objec1B and purposes hereinafter stated. Section 2: That the objects and purposes for which said indebted- ness is proposed to be incurred and bonds issued therefor is as fol- lows: The acquisition, construction and completion by said City of Seal Beach of a certain municipal improvement, towit: The acquisition, construction and completion of a wharf, or municipal pier, includ- ing ornamental lights, water, rest rooms, boat landing facilities, the acquisition of land, rec1amstion of submerged lands, right of way, maohinery, equipment, appR~.tus or other appurtenances and other property necessary therefor~ Section 3: That the estimated cost of the proposed iUnicipa1 improve- ment above described is One Hundred and One Thousand and Five Hundred Dollars ($101,500.00); that the amount of principal indebtednass to be V incurred therefor is the sum of One Hundred and One~ousand and Five -1- Ordinance!-Number - " . .1 Hundred Dollllrs($1~1,500.00); that if the proposition for the incurring of said indebtedness for said purpose so submitted re- ceives the requisite number of votes, towit: two-thirds of the votes of the qualified voters voting at said general elaction upon said proposition, bonds of said City in the amount of One Hundred and One Thousand and Five Hundred Dollars($lOl,500.00) shall be issued and sold for the objects and purposes set forth in said proposition. Section 4: The ballots to be used at such election shall, in additioa to any other matters required by law, contain substantially the following: "Mark II cross(X) on ballot ONLY WITH RUBBER STAMP; never with pen or pencil. -------- INSTRUCTIOI~ TO VOTERS: To vote on any quest10n or propos1tion, stamp a cross(X) in the voting square af~er the word "Yes" or after the 'lord "No". All marks except the cross(X) are forbidden. All distinguishing marks or erasures are forbidden and make the ballot void. Section 6: That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption_of this ordinance by a voue of at least two-thirds of all thl members of the City council of the City of Seal Beach and to its ap- proval by the !~yor of said City, and_shall cause this ordinance to bl publhhed once a week for two succeeding weeks in the "Seal Belich Post &: Waven,a newspaper of general circu1I1tion,printed, published -2- " " OrdinanC:e Number and circulated less than six days a week in said City, which newspaper is hereby des ignited for that purpose.
