The People of the City ot Seal Beaah, Californla, do ordain;
as tolloVls:

Section 1. That the compensation ot each member ot the City
Counail of the City of Seal Beach, California, shall be inareased
by the sum of Flfbeen Dollars($15.00) per month, such compensatlon
to begin on the first da, ot the month next sucaeeding the canvass
ot the returns ot the General Municipal Electlon,to be held April
14th, 1936, at which this Ordinance is to be submitted to the quali-
fied electors ot said City, and the amount so fixed shall, from such
date, be a regular oharge agalnst such City, payable the same as
other tixed salarles are paid.
Section 2. The City Clerk shall cause a reterence to this Ordinance,
or de/Position, to be included in the Notlce ot Eleatlon for the regu-
l~r municipal election to be held April 14th, 1936, in said Clty of
Seal Beach, Calltornla, and shall cause this ODdinsnce, or pDoposition,
to be printed and shall mail a copy thereot, enclosed in an envelope
Vlith a samp~e ballot to each voter at least ten(lO) days prior to said
eleation, and at said electlon the City Clerk shall have prlnted bal-

lots to be used for voting upon said proposition, in the manner pro-
vided under the Initlative and Referendum Act, being an Act to pro~
vide for direct legislation by Cit~es and Towns, including Initiative
and Referendum, in effect July 28th, 1917, Statutes of 1917, at page
655, General Laws of the State of Calltornla, and any amendments there-
to, and lf a majority ot the qualitled electors votlng on this Ordi-
nanae as proposed shall vote in tavor thereof, suoh Ordinanae shall
thereupon become valid and a blndlng Ordinance of the City of Seal
Beach, Callfornia, and be oonsldered adopted upon the date that the
